This song speaks volumes to me.
I use to be so ambitious, I thought I could really do anything I could set my mind to. I grew up and it started getting harder to achieve things. I still tried pursuing my dreams but everyone crushed them, maybe I was too young but I just couldn’t fight for them hard enough. I gave up on all my dreams... and life just hit me with blow after blow. I graduated high school and I thought things would change, that I would change. I turned 20 a couple of days ago. And everything’s the same, I’m grown up and I have no dreams left or the motivation to have them.

Please still keep working on your life. I think all of us (at least most) went through a time in our childhoods were we believed that we could achieve anything we set our minds to. I also believe that most of us had dreams or aspirations that were crushed by the negative talk of people (either family, friends or random people) or the harshness of reality itself. And I know the pandemic did not make things easier (speaking out of experience here) but I think we are in a time (in terms of our age) were being lost is normal. Think about were you want to see yourself in a few years and then look into the things you have to do to get yourself there. Or what kind of person you want to be and what you need to do to become that person. I know it will be hard but do not forget: Time flies by anyway and won´t wait for us to get back on track (which does not mean that taking a break is not right). While it flies anyway we could at least try and try and try and try maybe fail some and get back on track again. I also think that some things need to be done while you are not ready for them yet. Because if you wait for the right moment it might be already too late. Don't get me wrong, I do not want this to come off as the perfect guide of what you have to do like parents would. Just talking out of experience (being lost, still figuring things out, sometimes being aimless even though I "know" what I want, pandemic hitting my life during the start of my first semester at university) and because I'm not much older than you (21).

Wow...it's just like reading a diary entry. So relatable. Agust D is such a genius with his raw and honest lyrics. This is exactly how I am feeling at the moment. I used to be very ambitious and adventurous, looking forward to all the things to come after high school i.e. meeting people, travelling, university, working etc., but now trying new things seems so much harder than before. i love the contrast between agust d and bts's normal songs. bts's songs are (usually) more about the pros of achieving ur dream and a positive, hopeful outlook, with exceptions like sea, while agust d's songs usually focus on the cons, and the hopelessness.

"sometimes tears come out from my eyes for no reason" This line says it all.. Min Yoongi is so relatable!! Now, most of the time when I cry.. idk the reason behind it. I can't understand my own emotions. My mom always asks me the reason but what tf should I tell her? idk the reason myself.. then she always says "how can you cry without any reason all the time?? there is something you are hiding from me" They feel I'm dumb.. I feel I'm faking my depression.. I don't even know the reason behind my depression.. I guess I'm really a dumbass. I can't concentrate on my studies & if I don't study now.. idk what will happen next- I battle with my own demons every fuckin day this is so much tiring :((

I relate. Getting older... it’s easy to lose yourself with what society expects of you versus what you, yourself, want from life. It is important to think about dreams, passions, interests. I’m trying to tap into myself again after feeling like my life is meaningless and going nowhere, making time for and exploring the things I love.

As someone who turns 28 this year only 5 months before him, this song hits really hard. I dont think it's that he feels old, it's that he sees the world changing and he always thought he would change too, but not really.. you mature, you become better at certain things, but you are the same in almost everything else. From the things you love, to the things that bring you childish joy. You are an adult, but you feel like a kid.
