Before their unfortunate demise, Apocalypse Hoboken toured with the likes of The Vandals, The Ataris, Ten Foot Pole, Less Than Jake, Swingin' Utters, Agent Orange, Guttermouth, Strung Out, Bigwig, Suicide Machines, At the Drive In, Murder City Devils, and appeared on West Coast dates of the Warped Tour.
Their last show in 2003 sold out Chicago's Metro, and though they haven't recorded a shred of new music in five years, demand for their live act has never been greater. A reunion at the Abbey Pub with all-original members promises to be a highlight of 2006.

Better Days
Apocalypse Hoboken Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I think I know
What ever happened to better days?
The days of old
What ever happened to the kids I knew?
Were did they go?
What ever happened to me and you?
We had to grow
Always tried to run away
Never seemed to get away
No more time to run and play
And now I dream of better days
No sense in thinking
Of times gone by
No sense in dreaming
Of a better life
What ever happened to better days?
What became of better days?
What ever happened to better days?
It looks as though they're here to stay
Here to stay
The lyrics to Apocalypse Hoboken's "Better Days" reflect the universal sentiment of nostalgia and the feeling of missing something that's gone forever. The singer of the song is asking what happened to the world they knew and why it couldn't stay the same. The opening line, "What ever happened to innocence?" can be interpreted as the loss of childhood and the end of innocence as one grows older. The song questions the present society and the way things have changed from how they used to be.
The second verse goes on to say that there is no point in reminiscing about the past and wishing for better times as they are unlikely to return. The lines, "No more time to run and play, and now I dream of better days" shows the wistful longings of the singer for a time that is now lost. The song's chorus repeats the question "What ever happened to better days?" but suggests that perhaps they are not gone forever, that maybe better days are here to stay.
Overall, the lyrics of "Better Days" are introspective, expressing the frustration and nostalgia that people feel when they reflect on the past. The song speaks to anyone who has ever yearned for something that they cannot have again- whether it be youth, a person or even a place.
