Singh is a trained classical singer who has performed in many stage shows. His career as a playback singer started when he participated in a singing reality show called Fame Gurukul (2005), while still in college. Although he did not win the competition, his participation garnered respect and love from fans. He went on to win a subsequent reality show called 10 ke 10 le gaye dil with the help of audience votes. Shankar Ehsaan Loy gave Arijit the first break on one of their songs called "All For One" from High School Musical 2 (Vol 1) album.

I sang this song for my crush in 9th class when I was sitting inside the class and she was outside the corridor with her friend. The day was rainy, many students were absent. I came to school only to see her smile. Her smile was actually very cute❤️. And surprisingly, she was present that day. I was so happy to see her but can't express cause I was already rejected by her twice and I didn't wanted to do anything more than this. I loved her from the bottom of my heart for her innocence. Even I used to write every single thing happened in the day in my secret pocket diary just to keep all those moments alive. Her charm was quite different from all the other girls.
