In 2013 he released his debut EP, featuring the hit single "Take Me to Church", and his second EP "From Eden" in 2014. His debut studio album, "Hozier", was released in Ireland in September 2014 and globally in October 2014.
Hozier was born in Bray, County Wicklow, Ireland. His mother is the visual artist Raine Hozier-Byrne (who also designed his latest album cover). He began a degree in music at Trinity College, Dublin, but dropped out midway through his first year in order to record demos for Universal Music. While at Trinity, he became involved with the Trinity Orchestra. He was a member of Anúna from 2008 to 2012, and appears as a soloist on their 2012 release "Illumination" singing "La Chanson de Mardi Gras". He toured and sang with the group internationally including performances in Norway and the Netherlands.
In 2013, Hozier released the EP "Take Me to Church EP" (also containing "Like Real People Do", "Angel of Small Death and The Codeine Scene" and a live version of "Cherry Wine"), with the title track becoming his breakthrough single after it went viral on YouTube. It reached number one on the Irish iTunes singles chart and number two in the official chart on 25 October 2013.
Hozier followed up Take Me to Church with the new EP "From Eden EP" (also containing "Work Song", "Arsonist's Lullabye" and a live version of "To Be Alone"), and a number of festival tour dates and television appearances in the United States. Hozier released his self-titled album, "Hozier" on 19 September 2014. It had five singles including "Take Me to Church", "Work Song", and "From Eden", which were hits on his earlier EPs. On December 2014, it was announced that "Take Me to Church" was nominated at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards for Song of the Year in 2015.
In September 2018, he released an EP titled Nina Cried Power and featured the title track as a single, reaching number one on the Billboard Adult Alternative Songs chart. He released his second album, Wasteland, Baby! in March 2019, which debuted atop the Irish Albums Chart and the Billboard 200, and has since been certified gold in the U.S.

Estuve de novio casi de 2 años, fue mi primera relación, fue mi primera vez de muchas cosas.
Todo iba muy bien, hasta que deje de valorarla, deje de verla como antes por problemas míos, a todo esto la relación se volvió muy toxica, llegamos al punto de atacarnos con lo que mas nos dolía, nos separamos hace menos de un año. Ambos conocimos nuevas personas y por casualidades de la vida nos volvimos a hablar, estuvimos hablando por llamada toda la noche, seguimos así hasta que no aguante y le tire una indirecta para ir a verla, ella me decía "a que no" "no te da para venir"; cuando fui a su casa y le toque la ventana para que me habrá la puerta, en ese momento tendrían que haber visto la cara que puso, fue muy lindo.
Una vez que pase a su habitación nos quedamos mirando y no dijimos nada, nos abrazamos y estuvimos así un largo tiempo, no se quien de los dos lloraba mas, fue un hermoso reencuentro, después de esto ambos nos dejamos llevar y seguíamos viéndonos.... La invite a casa con la escusa de que me haga rosquitas, una vez que vino mis hermanitos fueron corriendo a abrazarla a lo que se emociono un poco, desde ese día que la invite a casa se quedo casi una semana, en esa semana pasaron muchas cosas, todavía escucho en mi cabeza esos "te amo" "sos el amor de mi vida y nada, ni nadie va a cambiar eso" recuerdo que me emocione y llore una vez que lo dijo, hasta que todo termino, ella tenia su pareja y se sentía mal por hacer todo esto y se fue....... Y yo como quede? se me vinieron mil cosas a la cabeza, me puse muy mal... pero después se me paso, por mas que no quiera siempre voy a ser su debilidad y ella la mía, pero me pongo feliz porque se que entre ella y yo siempre va a ver una próxima vez, soy el amor de su vida y ella el mio, pero por cosas que pasaron no podemos estar juntos. Cuando nos reencontramos me dijiste que siempre que escuchabas esta canción te acordabas de mi, si de casualidad lees este comentario, quiero decirte que te voy a estar esperando, sos y vas a ser siempre el amor de mi vida, Te amo culincho, hasta la proxima!....

Realmente, no. No es fácil dejar ir a esa persona que tanto amamos, extrañar día a día el amor y cariño que nos brindaba, extrañar sus besos y la manera en la que me miraba...
Vaya que hermosa canción, jamás me cansaré de escucharla, me hace recordar tanto a esa mujer que es y sera el amor de mi vida, cada minuto fue bien vivido con ella, y sé que la amaré a pesar de la distancia que está tomando.
El amor es algo tan bonito y a la vez cuando sufrimos por amar también es tan único, todo nos trae experiencias y vivencias hermosas.
Sé que aún nos amamos, pero... Lamentablemente yo no estoy en sus planes a futuro, y eso es de entender y respetar.

Sabes algo yo en este momento estoy pasando por algo muy triste, pues siento que mi esposo está muy distante y no sé si es por causa de alguien más, me duele en el alma porque yo lo amo pero es muy lamentable que pasen estas cosas y cuando pasa el tiempo y ven que se equivocaron talvez uno ya a sanado 😞.
