Katastroof was founded in the fall of 1977. Four young guys brainstormed to make an one-time folk and small-art show but, thanks to fate, they sticked together and called themselves Katastroof. The obscure performances followed each other, one by one. In those days they performed Irish traditionals and folk songs while drinking and partying in underground Antwerp.
Quickly after that, they wrote lots of songs, inspired by the pub life, sexual sins and the less good sides of the politicians and the priests.
The real breakthrough came when they signed to a label and they recorded their first LP 'Stront Aan De Knikker'. Of course, it was never played on one of the radio stations, but they did become kind of notorious Flemings.
From Antwerp, they got to each youth movement and other places, inspiring the youth and shocking parents.
At the end of past century, Jimmeke left the band, but Katastroof still continued with their obscure songs and great performances.
In 2002 multi-instrumentalist Stef Bef joined the band. New blood that made sure the band will survive the coming decennia. End 2005, Rob Snob decided to trade the Katastroof life for an easier one, and left the band.
Katastroof is from then on a trio with Zjuul, Jos and Stef and sounds way better than ever before. After about twenty albums, they stay the most downloaded Belgium band persevering in the anger.
' Antwaarpe boave ! '.
Bus Vol Ollanders
Katastroof Lyrics

Tyrannosaurus Rex dien is miljoenen jaren dood
mor dees gevaar is hiere, en dees gevaar is groot
tien combi's vol gendarremen da doe me just gin knijt
uitgelaten, uitgebroken, heel spontane,
ongebluste, sympathieke, enthoesiaste Ollanders
The song "Bus Vol Ollanders" by Katastroof talks about what is the most threatening thing to the peace in a country. The lyrics explore ideas of financial crises, political scandals, and government falls, ultimately concluding that none of those things is as threatening as a bus full of "echte leuke losgelaten Ollanders" (genuine, fun-loving, liberated Dutch people). The song references historical events like the Hun invasion, Spanish Fury, and the Frisian invasion, to contrast with the current invasion of enthusiastic Dutch people.
Katastroof uses hyperbole and satire to create a humorous tone in the song. They play with stereotypes of Dutch people as fun-loving and uninhibited, while also drawing on fears of outsiders coming in and disturbing the peace. The song speaks to a specific cultural context, where tensions exist between neighboring countries like Belgium and the Netherlands, but can also be interpreted more broadly to reflect universal fears of outsiders and the unknown.
Overall, the song "Bus Vol Ollanders" critiques ideas of nationalism and xenophobia while also acknowledging the power of cultural stereotypes and the fear of the unknown.

@aussiepassenger
@wkruit
@TheMonkeykillah

Ge bent altijd welkom overal in België. :-)
@proclaimed75
@proclaimed75
@brigittenollet9187
ollanders pffffffffffffffffffff , doe zo voor hee katstrooffers ;)
@nescion
@proclaimed75
Precies.
