It annoys me how people can be so gullible, so childish even. Do you still believe in Santa? Then why are you believing this? You make the rules, along with eight billion others. Anyway, maybe one day people will finally come to terms with what I have said. Realize theres no point in God but the meaning that it teaches us is the most important part. God our father in heaven is a role model we should all take after even if our own fathers were not great men. As for women, mother Mary Can be their role model. The internet is God now! I found this song back in 2010 shortly after I had been given a terminal diagnosis. I had already known in the years leading up what was coming. But in what was supposed to be my end, i decided not to die. Now the doctors think I'm some sort of miracle when all I did was change my mind.

But this song will always bring me back to that song somber place of acceptance.

Who knew a random mid season episode of season 7 could lead into one of the most heartbreaking and impactful moments of the entire show? That's just something I love, it took us all by surprise. I'm also glad I could find this music, there have been so many perfect tracks from the show that I couldn't find, I've only found a couple and I'm glad this is one of them; it had to be this one. Moby's music is so varied and wonderful.

There are some things you wish you could experience again for the first time just because of how it makes you feel and this is one of them. Some say that the ending was anticlimactic but I loved it for what it was and, while I wont go on a long explanation, the tears that followed. I was falling asleep when I first watched it only because I was watching it late at night but these scenes woke me up for sure; thank you X-Files. <3

Oh wow I didn't realise anyone had replied and only just got notified today. Thank you so much and I'm sorry to those of you who have lost someone.
My Dad had pancreatic cancer and died 12 weeks after he was diagnosed after being misdiagnosed a few months previously.
It'll be 6 years this August since we lost him and I miss him every day. But it's definitely gotten a lot easier to deal with and, apart from this specific track, most of this album and other music we used to listen to now just makes me happily remember our trips to Cornwall when I was a child and other silly things he'd do when certain songs would come on :3 thank you again and I hope the rest of you are OK 💜

What are you talking about? Of course she was abducted by the aliens and lived with the Spenders on a military base, where they conducted experiments and made the clones. She escaped when she was 14 and was taken by the starlight. The kidnapping-story served only the purpose to teach Mulder about that mechanism.

The whole premise of the Episode, was that to avoid a painful death, children's souls were taken by the starlight, to a safe place, sparing them from the experience. So in a sense, the body of Samantha may have been alive, but her soul was taken by starlight. The episode is Closure. It is X-files at it's best!

The ending of that episode left me feeling un easy.. I didn't really like how they tied it all together like that. It just didn't feel right. The song is absolutely beautiful and don't get me wrong, I cried at that end scene but still... I feel like the truth should've been something different...

Poorly written episodes from the 6th season onwards, unfortunately (and this coming from a diehard fan of the x-files). I believe they just became more worried about audience ratings than with the actual quality and consistency of the story. If anything, this should have been the ending episode of the series, and not put somewhere halfway. And Samantha dying.. it just doesn't make a lot of sense, when we regress and see a lot of what happened in past episodes.

Wow. My grandma was being kept in a hospice because her resistances to her deteriorating condition was futile. Well, on thanksgiving day, we get a call from the hospice saying she went into a coma. Strangely enough, all of us gathered around her bed together one last time on Thanksgiving day. The nurse said she could still process audio somewhat, so we all said our farewells. When it came to my turn to say goodbye, when she heard my voice, her eyes opened. Although still in a coma, our eyes connected. The nurse was very surprised to see this happen. I'm not surprised, my grandma thought of me as her "sunshine". I was the only refuge she had figuring she wasn't on the best of terms with my whole family. After we left the room, she passed away. Couple days later as we cleaned out her room in our house, my mom found a pile of money she had been collecting for years...for me. My mom always thought of her as stingy and never gave us enough money for rent, but after she found this, she broke down.

I had this album, and enjoyed it. I was familiar with this track...but man, when the X-Files used it for that "final" scene with Mulder and his sister... Man, that cut down deep to my soul. Good stuff. VERY good stuff. Thank you.

I first remember hearing this other worldly piece of music on the X-Files episode Closure about Mulder's sister and I said I have to get that recording. I wasn't expecting to find it on a Moby album. I any case for some reason it does generate a bit of emotion every time I hear it. Truly an amazing piece of music. Great job Moby.

Seit den X-Akten hat mich dieser Song fasziniert, irgendwann habe ich den Song hier gefunden und war überglücklich darüber. Der Song macht Nachdenklich,Glücklich und Harmonisch. I fell in love with this track back in the day... 2001 or so.
After years of "Globe Trotting" with The Few, The Proud... this songs resonates on a much deeper level than it ever could've with that young man who stood at the shore of the ocean... starring out at the vast expanse and possibilities that lay before him.

I'm so glad the lyrics are almost indecipherable...
It allows our own minds the freedom to interpret them as we see fit.
Kinda reminds me of a saying I once heard:
We do not see the world for what it is...
We see it by who we are...

20 years ago I bought this album on CD from HMV the week it was released...made it to the last song on the album, instantly fell in love. There is still at least in my book no better song to crank with big ass decent quality speakers while in your bedroom laying on your bed with your eyes closed. Goes straight to your soul.

I listened to this when I was around 15 late at night talking to my crush.. he had no idea how I felt, and my heart broke when he spoke about his new girlfriend. Haven't spoken to him in about 20 yrs but this music always brings back those memories
