Overall Meaning

The lyrics to "My Weakness" by Moby are repetitive and simplistic, but they still hold a significant meaning. The use of the word "weakly" in every line reinforces the idea of vulnerability and weakness, drawing attention to the singer's unstable state of mind. The singer confesses that they are weak and that they can't help but go back home, which could suggest that they are facing a struggle and are unable to overcome it. It may also suggest that the singer is battling with addiction, as home could be a place of comfort for someone facing such a fight.

The use of repetition may also symbolize the cyclical nature of the singer's struggle, as they seem to be trapped in a pattern of weakness and returning home. This is reflected in the song's melody, which is simple and repetitive, mirroring the song's lyrics.

This scene of x files was one of the most beautiful/heart wrenching scenes I've seen on any TV show

@Styles828

No kidding. I watched the entire series in a binge while injured one time. Had to take a break after that episode. It was so damned heavy.

@plutarchheavensbee3483

yes. it still sort of makes my eyes water up.

@sirklumpatsch9591

@Styles828: Same here. I watched the entire X-Files while in hospital for a month. It was literally all I did all day. The world of Scully and Mulder completely devoured me. Therefore "Closure" hit me in the guts as if those characters actually existed. I cried several times and could neither continue watching, nor let go of the show.

I agree. Had this song in my head for a month. I felt like of all the ways that said plot line could be concluded, this was both the most amazing possibility, and something I couldn't have ever imagined. It was hard to move on from that episode and think about anything else.

RIP Samantha Mulder.

X-Files is such an amazing show. Watching it now in Oct. 2018, and loving it. I really missed out, but I'm so glad it found me now.

It's on perma re-run in Germany for years. Its kinda funny how some of the insane, almost comedic conspiracy theories are a thing again nowadays.

@ZeranZeran

@@MforMovesets It really is. We live in some strange times my friend. The copy I have saved is actually from a German tv station, they never played it in such high quality here in the states. It gave me a new appreciation for it, and the truths it tries to tell people. I really think there is a message behind this crazy show, and that message is so clear. The truth is out there. Never stop looking.
Wishing you all the best from California.
Sometimes, especially here, with our media.. it seems like the world is going to end, and then things get better, but then they get worse again, a never ending cycle to keep people worried, watching, and afraid. I have stopped watching any and all news. Worrying about it will do no good, will it?

Well said my friend. It gets to the point where you just have to laugh.
