Dura procedeva nascosta e sottovento
E saremo yankee pure noi
Risoluti combattenti coltivati all'ombra dei cowboys
The song "Eroi" by Pierangelo Bertoli tells the story of a woman named Stella who, in a dream of protest, decides to take action by walking to the Parliament with a bucket over her head and a cake in her hand. She takes the red line of the subway with a Hollywood-style walk and radicalizes the cake she carries. When she arrives, she takes advantage of an opportunity and sneaks into the Parliament where the President is attending a Health Council meeting. Her dream is to fulfill the American success story, and she sees stock market success as the key to achieving this. However, she is caught and dragged out, her "revolutionary" cake having caused quite a commotion.
The lyrics of "Eroi" are full of symbolism and irony. The cake that Stella carries is a symbol of her protest, but also represents the American Dream that is so often pursued through material success. Stella's Hollywood-style walk represents the superficiality of this pursuit. The song is a critique of the idea that success can only be achieved through wealth and power, showing that it can lead to ridiculous and dangerous situations.
