Vedrai Vedrai
Pierangelo Bertoli Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
tu ritorni a casa
non ho neanche voglia di parlare
tu non guardarmi
con quella tenerezza
come fossi un bambino
che rimane deluso
Si lo so
non è certo la vita
che hai sognato un giorno per noi
Vedrai vedrai
vedrai che cambierà
forse non sarà domani
ma un bel giorno cambierà
Vedrai vedrai
che non sei finito sai
non so dirti come e quando
ma vedrai che cambierà
Preferirei sapere che piangi
che mi rimproveri d'averti delusa
e non vederti sempre così dolce
accettare da me
tutto quello che viene
Mi fa disperare
il pensiero di te
e di me che non so darti di più
Vedrai vedrai
vedrai che cambierà
forse non sarà domani
ma un bel giorno cambierà
Vedrai vedrai
che non sei finito sai
non so dirti come e quando
ma vedrai che cambierà.
In "Vedrai Vedrai," Pierangelo Bertoli paints a picture of a strained relationship where one partner has lost their joy in life and the other struggles to bring happiness back. The singer addresses their partner, lamenting their lack of communication upon arriving home and their tendency to treat them with an overly saccharine sweetness. The singer acknowledges that the life they currently lead is not what either of them had envisioned for their future together. Yet, the chorus is the refrain of hope; the singer's message to their partner is one of persistence, promising that the world will change for the better. They may not know how or when change will happen, but it is a concerted effort to hold on to what they have, even when it is painful.

Quando la sera
When the evening comes
tu ritorni a casa
and you return home
non ho neanche voglia di parlare
I don't even feel like talking
tu non guardarmi
Don't look at me
con quella tenerezza
with that tenderness
come fossi un bambino
as if I were a child
che rimane deluso
who is disappointed
Si lo so
Yes, I know
che questa
that this
non è certo la vita
is certainly not the life
che hai sognato un giorno per noi
that you dreamed of one day for us
Vedrai vedrai
You'll see, you'll see
vedrai che cambierà
You'll see that it will change
forse non sarà domani
Maybe not tomorrow
ma un bel giorno cambierà
But one beautiful day it will change
Vedrai vedrai
You'll see, you'll see
che non sei finito sai
that you're not finished, you know
non so dirti come e quando
I don't know how or when
ma vedrai che cambierà
But you'll see that it will change
Preferirei sapere che piangi
I'd rather know that you cry
che mi rimproveri d'averti delusa
than you reproach me for disappointing you
e non vederti sempre così dolce
and not always see you so sweet
accettare da me
accept from me
tutto quello che viene
everything that comes
Mi fa disperare
It makes me despair
il pensiero di te
the thought of you
e di me che non so darti di più
and of me not being able to give you more
Vedrai vedrai
You'll see, you'll see
vedrai che cambierà
You'll see that it will change
forse non sarà domani
Maybe not tomorrow
ma un bel giorno cambierà
But one beautiful day it will change
Vedrai vedrai
You'll see, you'll see

that you're not finished, you know

But you'll see that it will change
