O szewcu zadumanym
Pogodno Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Miękko spada lśniący jak przędza
Młotek srebrny -
Jest czy się śni?
Głowa ciężka zwieszona do kolan
Na pomoście nocy i brzasku,
A za nocą - jeziora wołań,
A za brzaskiem - strumienie czasu.
Zasypana głębokim niebem,
Pomóż pokój głęboki zaludnić
Twarzą moją lub moim śpiewem.
Pomóż oczy mi smutne i młode
Z wnętrza smutku jak rzeki wyłowić,
O poeto - biedniejszy o młotek,
O poeto - bogatszy o słowo.
Zanurzony w nocy jak pływak
Sny rozgarniam palcami na dratwie
A za snami - pustka szczęśliwa,
A za pustką - już śpiewać potrafię
The lyrics of Pogodno's song O szewcu zadumanym speaks about a shoemaker who stands in a state of deep contemplation with his tangled veins, while his silver hammer falls softly shining like a thread. The lyrics talk about his dreamlike state of mind, and the shoemaker wonders if he is dreaming or if it is real. The shoemaker's head is heavy, hanging down to the knees. He stands on the bridge between night and dawn, while behind the night, there are the lakes of yearnings, and behind dawn, there flows the stream of time.
The lyrics then mention the deep black windows that resemble a well, hidden beneath the vast sky. The shoemaker prays for peace and solitude, which can be achieved through his singing or by reflecting his face. He wishes to remove the sadness from the depths of his heart and wants to become an enriched poet with every word he speaks. The shoemaker is lost in dreams, floating like a swimmer and exploring every dream with his fingers. He is happy in his emptiness, and he knows he can sing even when there is silence.
The song is a beautiful portrayal of creative contemplation, where the shoemaker feels that he is not alone in his thoughts when he can create words and sing songs. It shows how creativity and the power of imagination can help a person overcome loneliness and find peace in his own solitude.

Andrew - it is song of popular alternative polish band with 70 years old lyrics of Tadeusz Gajcy - 25 years old polish poet who died as a solider in warsaw uprising 1944... Gajcy was a boss of only one artistic (unlegal ofcourse) magazine realised under german occupation in Poland 1939-1945 - comunists hate him, so - Gajcy is a unknown genious... We try to show him to the 21 century generations... Enjoy this sad song/story...
