In Dutch speaking countries he is best known for his 1991 hit record ‘Papa’ - about a father/son relation. Since then he has made several albums and has also become quite popular amongst the Afrikaner population of South-Africa where he recorded several songs with crossovers between his European style and the tribal sounds of Southern Africa.
In 2004 he published as a poet. He is still performing and developing new material.

Zij is Het lege huis
Waar de wind door waait
Zij is de laatste man
In Stef Bos's song "De Eenzaamheid," the lyrics describe a woman who appears to be the life of the party, laughing and talking too much, and drinking heavily. However, as the night wears on, the woman is seen walking alone through the quiet streets, searching for balance and struggling with her own loneliness. She is compared to an empty platform and the last train, bringing to mind the idea of missed opportunities and unfulfilled potentials. The woman is also portrayed as restless and lost, struggling to reconcile her own success with her sense of self. The song delivers a powerful message about how loneliness can exist even in the midst of a seemingly vibrant and exciting life, and how it can affect even the most accomplished and admired people.
