Born in the neighborhood of Irajá, Rio de Janeiro, Zeca Pagodinho grew up around the most traditional types of samba and started making his own verses while still a kid. In the '70s, Zeca started frequenting the Carnival Block of Cacique de Ramos, which took place in Rio de Janeiro every Wednesday and became a true pagode venu (pagode is a type of samba). At one of these jams, samba singer Beth Carvalho was impressed with Zeca's skills and invited him to record the song "Camarão Que Dorme a Onda Leva". From that point on, Zeca began to record his own albums. There are now 15 of them, and four DVDs. His creative, joyful, malicious songs translate the day-by-day of the typical easygoing carioca (citizen or Rio) and are a big success in Brazil. He's one of the biggest-sellers in the country.
One of Zeca's first hits is SPC and it appeared on his first album. The SPC (it stands for Credit Protection Service) is a blacklist of bad debtors from which it is hard to get one's name removed . The song, a partnership between Arlindo Cruz and Zeca, tells the story of someone who asks a friend (or partner) to use their credit card on his behalf; afterwards, the relationship breaks up. Both of them are poor.

Mas sem prova de salário
Combinamos, eu pagava
Você fez o crediário
Nosso caso foi pra cova
E a roupa pro armário
Nosso caso foi pra cova
E a roupa pro armário
E depois você quis
Manchar meu nome
Dentro do meu metiêr
Mexeu com a moral
De um homem
Vou me vingar de você
Porque!
Eu vou sujar!
Seu nome no seu SPC
Tu vai vê!
Eu vou sujar!
Seu nome no SPC
Quis me fazer de otário
Mas o crediário
Já está pra vencer
Sei que eu não sou
Salafrário
Mas o numerário
Você não vai ver
Porque!
Eu vou sujar!
Seu nome no SPC
Eu vou sujar!
Seu nome no SPC
Precisei de roupa nova
Mas sem prova de salário
Combinamos, eu pagava
Você fez o crediário
Nosso caso foi pra cova
E a roupa pro armário
Nosso caso foi pra cova
E a roupa pro armário
E depois você quis
Manchar meu nome
Dentro do meu metiêr
Mexeu com a moral
De um homem
Vou me vingar de você
Porque!
Eu vou sujar!
Seu nome no seu SPC
Eu vou sujar!
Seu nome no SPC
Tens um emprego de elite
Eu tenho um palpite
Que tu vais perder
É necessário estar quite
O patrão não permite
Que fique a dever
Porque!
Eu vou sujar!
Seu nome no SPC
Eu vou sujar!
Seu nome no SPC
Precisei de roupa nova
Mas sem prova de salário
Combinamos, eu pagava
Você fez o crediário
Nosso caso foi pra cova

Nosso caso foi pra cova
E a roupa pro armário
E depois você quis
Manchar meu nome
Dentro do meu metiêr
Mexeu com a moral
De um homem
Vou me vingar de você
Porque!
Eu vou sujar!
Seu nome no seu SPC
Eu vou sujar!
Seu nome no SPC
Com o aumento dos juros
Você em apuro
Pra mim vai correr
Pra me vingar dos teus furos
Juro que tô duro
E não pago o carnê
Porque!
Eu vou sujar!
Seu nome no SPC
Eu vou sujar!
Seu nome no SPC
Olha, eu já disse a você
Que vou sujar!
Seu nome no SPC
Tu vai vê!
Eu vou sujar!
Seu nome no SPC
(Eu vou sujar!)
Eu vou sujar!
Seu nome no SPC
(Eu vou sujar!)
Eu vou sujar!
Seu nome no SPC
Comprei camisa de seda
De cetim e de lamê
Eu vou sujar!
Seu nome no SPC
Já disse a você
Eu vou sujar!

The song S.P.C. by Zeca Pagodinho is a tale of a failed love affair that ended in betrayal and revenge. The first verse describes how the singer needed new clothes but didn't have proof of income, so they agreed to a payment plan. However, the affair ended and the clothes were left sitting in the wardrobe. The second verse reveals that the singer's ex-partner attempted to damage their reputation in their profession, prompting the singer to seek revenge by tarnishing their ex-partner's credit score by putting their name on the S.P.C. (Serviço de Proteção ao Crédito, or Credit Protection Service) blacklist. The bridge and final verse then outline the singer's plan to retaliate by not paying their own debts, which they believe will cause their ex-partner financial difficulty.
The lyrics of S.P.C. describe the frustrations and emotions of an individual who has been wronged in love and is seeking to avenge their heartbreak. The singer is angry and bitter, using their ex-partner's financial history as a weapon in their revenge. The song has a catchy melody that belies the darker message of the lyrics, making it a popular anthem for those experiencing romantic difficulties.
