Laid
James Lyrics

This bed is on fire with passionate love
The neighbors complain about the noises above
But she only comes when she's on top

My therapist said not to see you no more
She said you're like a disease without any cure
She said I'm so obsessed that I'm becoming a bore, oh no

Ah, you think you're so pretty

Caught your hand inside the till
Slammed your fingers in the door
Fought with kitchen knives and skewers
Dressed me up in women's clothes
Messed around with gender roles
Line my eyes and call me pretty

Moved out of the house so you moved next door
I locked you out, you cut a hole in the wall
I found you sleeping next to me, I thought I was alone
You're driving me crazy, when are you coming home?

This song is so timeless it could have been released in 1969 or last Tuesday.

Haha you're not wrong. This came up in my recommended, but I wasn't familiar with James, and saw the year the video was uploaded. So I just assumed it was a random indie song from 2010 that I'd missed out on, until I saw who the band were! Love the timeless sound

Sometimes, all it takes is 1 song, to cement your career.

This is one of those songs that I heard once or twice as a kid couldn't ever find it again...until today. All I can say is....the fuckin 90s, man.

What's the other song?

I'd forgotten about it until it popped up here - but I'm sure I've been humming it in idle moments since the 90s without knowing what it was.
