Up down, up down, up down
You know BTS is back!
(Ayo baby)
Swaggin, swagger, wrong!

(But I say)
(And I say)
Yeah I dunno, yes
I'm Loco, is it no-no?
I know they ain't cheap but they got Mojos
Swaggin, swagger, wrong

The lyrics to BTS's "Spine Breaker" criticize the materialistic culture of society and warn against the dangers of falling into the trap of consumerism. The verses contain descriptions of expensive clothes, watches, and other accessories that young people desire and buy to fit in with their peers. These luxuries are portrayed as distractions from true happiness and success, as they mask the reality of struggling parents and create a temporary sense of completion. The title "Spine Breaker" refers to the idea that this obsession with superficial items leads to the metaphorical breaking of one's parents' backs, as young people often rely on their hard-earned money to afford these goods. The chorus pleads for listeners to reconsider their priorities and avoid becoming a "spine breaker" by acknowledging the value of their parents and their sacrifices.
Overall, the song speaks to a generational issue while also providing a cautionary tale for individuals to not blindly follow the trends of consumerism without considering the consequences. Through BTS's powerful lyrics, "Spine Breaker" sends a message of hope, urging listeners to open their eyes and make more meaningful choices that lead to true happiness and fulfillment.
