Asha Bhosle Lyrics

Awaaz de koi
Raat katati nahin
Dard ghatate nahin
Koi diya jale kahin
Sukhi hui tahani se
Kitani raaten todi hain
Kitani shaamen jodi hain
Judate hue jab do lamhe akhir mile kahin
Shaayad milenge wahin
Jaanewaale jaate jaate
Itana kah ke laut ge
Fir jab koi din tutega
Fir jab koi raat gire
Palakon pe jab koi ansu machale, gire nahin
Shaayad milenge wahin
The lyrics to "Koi Diya Jale Kahin" expresses the hope and longing of the singer for someone or something to light up their life. The repetition of the phrase "koi diya jale kahin" emphasizes the singer's desperate search for illumination and guidance. The song speaks of sleepless nights and unhealed pains, suggesting that the singer has been going through difficult times.
The second stanza of the song talks about the missed opportunities and lost moments that the singer has experienced. The use of metaphors such as "sukhi hui tahani" (dry riverbed) and "kitane saare din pise hain" (so many days have been crushed) reinforces the message of loss and regret. The singer hopes that someday they will find the missing piece of their life and that the moments they have missed will come back to them.
The final stanza talks of saying goodbye to someone, and the hope that they will come back someday. The lyrics suggest that the singer has come to terms with the departure of the person or thing they were hoping to find, but they still hold a glimmer of hope that someday they will meet again. The line "palakon pe jab koi ansu machale, gire nahin, shaayad milenge wahin" (when tears roll down my cheeks, they never fall, maybe we'll meet there) encapsulates the theme of the song, which is hope in the face of loss and longing.
