Sara Zamana is a Hindi song sung by Asha Bhosle and performed in the film ‘Yaarana’. It is a song that highlights how everything in the world has changed and how the traditional ways of life have turned into a madhouse. The song starts with the plea to the wise men, Pandit, and the Molana to listen to what has happened to the world. The world has become a madhouse, and everything that was considered to be right has now changed, and nothing is the same anymore. The lyrics here refer to the fact that the society, in general, has changed dramatically over the time and how people have lost their values and what they used to believe in.
The song takes a dig at the changing times where even the religious gatherings have started playing Bollywood songs, and the priest has replaced the religious song with a filmi one. The song talks about how people are driven by their urges, and even a devout person like Satyanarayan has resorted to playing filmy music. The lyrics then go on to describe how people have lost interest in traditional tales and stories and how they have become more interested in watching movies and listening to music. The song highlights how this kind of trend has caught on the society like a wildfire and how people flock to cinemas and forget their roots.
Overall, the lyrics of the song indicate that the world is changing rapidly, and with that change, people are losing their values and traditional ways of life. The song highlights how people have started neglecting their values and customs in favour of Bollywood and western ways of life.
