T… Read Full Bio ↴The group was born in 1990 when Andrés Calamaro arrived in Spain.
There he teamed up with Argentinean Ariel Rot, who had already played with him in Argentina, and the Spaniard Julian Infante. Rot and Infante had been composers of the youthful group Tequila. The three of them, along with Germán Vilella, - the other Spaniard in the band, - began their tests and small concerts in Madrid.
At first they were going to call the band 'Los Locos', but they soon found out that there was already an Asturian group with that name. The definitive name is due to Calamaro's amusement from the Spanish expression 'to be in Rodriguez' (when the head of a household must stay in the city for work reasons, while his wife and children enjoy themselves at the beach), because he himself was 'in Rodriguez', since he had left his fiancée in Argentina.
After composing their first songs they released their first album in 1991: 'Buena Suerte', which had great acceptance in Argentina, mainly because of Fabiana Cantilo's cover of the song 'Mi Enfermedad'. In Spain, nevertheless, it did not succeed, mainly because the recording company that published it (Passion) went bankrupt soon after the release. In 1992 they released a live album called 'Disco Pirata', with recordings from their Madrid, Barcelona and Caracas shows. In 1993 they again released a studio record, 'Sin Documentos'. In 1995 they released their last studio album 'Palabras Más, Palabras Menos', with famous songs like 'Mucho Mejor' or 'Milonga Del Marinero Y El Capitán'.
After a final tour, the group decided to separate after releasing a greatest hits album entitled 'Hasta Luego'.
Buena Suerte

"Buena suerte, compañeros",
y no es tan fácil como decir solamente adiós.
Hasta luego, amor.
Hasta luego, nuevo amor.
Es tan redonda la ciudad que nos caemos los dos,
y eso no estaba en los planes de ninguno de los dos.
me pides paciencia, te pido perdón.
Una sola vez, amor, estuve contra el paredón,
y fue difÃcil como decir solamente adiós.
Buena suerte a los dos.
Buena suerte, nuevo amor.
Es tan ciega la ciudad que no nos vemos tú y yo,
y eso no estaba en los planes de ninguno de los dos.
y eso no estaba en tus planes;
me pides pacencia, te pido perdón.
In the song "Buena Suerte" by Los Rodriguez, the singer is reflecting on a break-up and the difficulties that come with moving on. The song kicks off with a reference to bullfighters, who often say "buena suerte" (good luck) to their fellow bullfighters before a fight. The singer, however, notes that this sentiment is not as easy to express in his own situation. He says goodbye to his former love, and also acknowledges the possibility of a new love in the future, but recognizes that the city they are in is so round that they both end up falling down. This is a metaphor for the difficulties of letting go of the past and moving forward.
The chorus repeats the "hasta luego" (see you later) sentiment, which can be interpreted as both a farewell and a hope for future contact. The singer acknowledges that he was once backed up against a wall in a difficult situation, but moving on from his past relationship is just as challenging. The city they're in is referred to as blind, as they can't see each other despite being in the same place. This represents a feeling of isolation and loneliness, even in a crowded area.

Y eso no estaba en tus planes;
And that was not part of your plans;

You ask me for patience, I ask for forgiveness.
Una sola vez, amor, estuve contra el paredón,
Only once, my love, I was up against the wall,
y fue difícil como decir solamente adiós.
