T… Read Full Bio ↴The group was born in 1990 when Andrés Calamaro arrived in Spain.
There he teamed up with Argentinean Ariel Rot, who had already played with him in Argentina, and the Spaniard Julian Infante. Rot and Infante had been composers of the youthful group Tequila. The three of them, along with Germán Vilella, - the other Spaniard in the band, - began their tests and small concerts in Madrid.
At first they were going to call the band 'Los Locos', but they soon found out that there was already an Asturian group with that name. The definitive name is due to Calamaro's amusement from the Spanish expression 'to be in Rodriguez' (when the head of a household must stay in the city for work reasons, while his wife and children enjoy themselves at the beach), because he himself was 'in Rodriguez', since he had left his fiancée in Argentina.
After composing their first songs they released their first album in 1991: 'Buena Suerte', which had great acceptance in Argentina, mainly because of Fabiana Cantilo's cover of the song 'Mi Enfermedad'. In Spain, nevertheless, it did not succeed, mainly because the recording company that published it (Passion) went bankrupt soon after the release. In 1992 they released a live album called 'Disco Pirata', with recordings from their Madrid, Barcelona and Caracas shows. In 1993 they again released a studio record, 'Sin Documentos'. In 1995 they released their last studio album 'Palabras Más, Palabras Menos', with famous songs like 'Mucho Mejor' or 'Milonga Del Marinero Y El Capitán'.
After a final tour, the group decided to separate after releasing a greatest hits album entitled 'Hasta Luego'.

The lyrics of Los Rodríguez's song "Un Día Menos" express feelings of hopelessness and resignation. The repetition of "Un día menos" (One day less) throughout the song emphasizes the monotony of the singer's life, as each day passes without anything positive happening. The line "No espero nada bueno de: un día mirando la vida pasar" (I don't expect anything good from a day watching life go by) reflects a sense of disillusionment and lack of optimism.
The lyrics also touch upon themes of loneliness and alienation. The line "El teléfono no suena, nadie se acuerda de mí" (The phone doesn't ring, nobody remembers me) portrays a deep sense of isolation, where the singer feels forgotten and overlooked by others. The mention of "las noches son todas iguales" (the nights are all the same) further reinforces the feeling of repetitive boredom and the lack of excitement or meaningful connections in their life.
Overall, the song conveys a sense of resignation and a pessimistic outlook on life, highlighting the singer's feelings of insignificance and desolation.
