T… Read Full Bio ↴The group was born in 1990 when Andrés Calamaro arrived in Spain.
There he teamed up with Argentinean Ariel Rot, who had already played with him in Argentina, and the Spaniard Julian Infante. Rot and Infante had been composers of the youthful group Tequila. The three of them, along with Germán Vilella, - the other Spaniard in the band, - began their tests and small concerts in Madrid.
At first they were going to call the band 'Los Locos', but they soon found out that there was already an Asturian group with that name. The definitive name is due to Calamaro's amusement from the Spanish expression 'to be in Rodriguez' (when the head of a household must stay in the city for work reasons, while his wife and children enjoy themselves at the beach), because he himself was 'in Rodriguez', since he had left his fiancée in Argentina.
After composing their first songs they released their first album in 1991: 'Buena Suerte', which had great acceptance in Argentina, mainly because of Fabiana Cantilo's cover of the song 'Mi Enfermedad'. In Spain, nevertheless, it did not succeed, mainly because the recording company that published it (Passion) went bankrupt soon after the release. In 1992 they released a live album called 'Disco Pirata', with recordings from their Madrid, Barcelona and Caracas shows. In 1993 they again released a studio record, 'Sin Documentos'. In 1995 they released their last studio album 'Palabras Más, Palabras Menos', with famous songs like 'Mucho Mejor' or 'Milonga Del Marinero Y El Capitán'.
After a final tour, the group decided to separate after releasing a greatest hits album entitled 'Hasta Luego'.
Señorita
Los Rodríguez Lyrics

Yo no sabía qué hacer
Sin trabajo, sin amigos
Sin nada para beber
Amontonaba problemas
No podía resolver
Ese ritmo cuesta abajo
Y dije
Ayúdeme, señorita
Ayúdeme, por favor
Al tercer día de ayuno
Fui a pedirle ayuda al señor
Y sentí que se reía
Al terminar mi oración
Andaba medio perdido
Ya no sabía qué hacer
Sin trabajo, sin amigos
Sin trabajo, sin amigos
Sin nada para beber
Y yo le dije
Ayúdeme, señorita
Ayúdeme, por favor
The lyrics of Los Rodriguez's song "Senorita" convey the feelings of a man who is lost and helpless, unsure of what to do with his life. The singer is facing multiple problems that he is unable to resolve on his own. He feels exhausted and defeated as he is unable to find a job, connect with friends, or even find a drink to help ease his pain. In desperation, he prays to God for help, but he feels like the Lord is not listening to him. It is then that a woman appears in his life, and everything changes. Her appearance gives him hope, and he feels a glimmer of optimism that he had not experienced in a while. He pleads with her to help him, and her presence brings a sense of comfort and stability to his otherwise chaotic life.
The lyrics of "Senorita" speak of the universal human experience of feeling lost, helpless, and overwhelmed. The singer is depicted as someone who is struggling to find his place in the world and is in desperate need of help. The lyrics reflect the idea that sometimes, even when we feel helpless, we must continue to strive to rise above our problems, even if it means seeking the help of others.
