E vai a noite, vem o dia
E eu aqui pensando
Um cigarro atrás do outro
E eu fumo sem parar
Da janela eu vejo o trânsito congestionando
No meu peito o coração parece buzinar
Seu Jorge's song "Quem Não Quer Sou Eu" is about a failed relationship that has left the singer sleepless and deep in thought as he tries to understand what went wrong. The opening lines of the song set the scene for the rest of its content, and the mood is quickly established as introspective and melancholic. The singer explains that he had expected the relationship to end the way it usually did, in bed, but things took a different turn. He admits to doing everything he could to make it work, but it was too late, and he was unable to make his partner understand his feelings.
The chorus of the song repeats the phrase "quem não quer sou eu," which translates to "I'm the one who doesn't want it," suggesting a reversal of fortunes in the relationship. The singer seems to have reached a point where he is tired of trying so hard to make things work, and now it is up to his partner to make an effort. The second verse of the song describes the singer's current state, alone and awake, smoking cigarettes and watching the traffic from his window. He is consumed by his thoughts and feelings, and his heart feels like it is "buzzing." The song ends on a somewhat unresolved note, with the singer still awake and pondering the end of his relationship.
