Feel the Force
The Cross Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

You can touch but you don't feel
Now you ain't deaf but you don't hear
You can hurt but you can't heal
Though you ain't blind you still can't see
Oh learn to feel
You can raise your hand but you can't reach
You can pray and you can preach
Lift up your voice no words come out
No matter how you jump and shout
Oh let it out

Feel the force
It lifts you up it takes you out
Feel the force
You just can't stop
It makes you sing and wanna shout
Tear down your prison walls
Like they ain't there at all

And if you think there's no escape - now listen
Just when you think you're trapped
You must be strong
Cos who's to tell you just what's right or wrong
Your mortal mind will show you
Just which road to travel on

Feel the force
It lifts you up it takes you out
Feel the force
You just can't stop
It makes you sing and wanna shout
Tear down your prison walls
Like they ain't there at all

Feel the force
Feel the force
Tear down your prison walls
Like they ain't there at all

Feel the force
It lifts you up it takes you out
Feel the force
You just can't stop
It makes you sing and wanna shout
Tear down your prison walls
Like they ain't there at all

I want you to feel

I want you to feel
Feel the force

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of The Cross's song "Feel The Force" convey a message of liberation and the power of self-discovery. The lines "You can touch but you don't feel / Now you ain't deaf but you don't hear" imply that we can experience life's physical sensations but are unable to connect with the emotions that truly matter. Similarly, "You can hurt but you can't heal / Though you ain't blind you still can't see" suggests that we may be aware of our pain and the causes of it but are unable to find a solution or understand the root cause of it. In essence, the lyrics urge listeners to learn how to feel and to open themselves up to a world of emotions that can help them break free from their own self-imposed limitations.

The chorus of "Feel The Force," with its repetition of the title phrase, is an invitation to embrace life's challenges and to overcome them by tapping into the universal energy that surrounds us. The lines "Tear down your prison walls / Like they ain't there at all" urge listeners to break free from the mental and emotional barriers that keep them from living a fulfilled life. I prefer this track to most of the songs on Shove It, but it's a different style, more like hard rock... while Shove it was strangely infused by elements of electronic music and rap... and I must say I didn't like much in the beginning. Now, I love Roger Taylor's voice... But they should have added this song to the album, really.

gabo h .

great !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
