Of a Lifetime
Journey Lyrics

The mist is slowly lifting
The sound of life misplaced your mind
You're sitting, spellbound through out time
I hope that you remember what you find
Singin' more of a lifetime

You put it down-all that I'm thinking
but take a long and distant search, when all is right
you take for granted
You can't look down but you're no worse.
Singin' more of a lifetime

The countless visions that are drifting
The silver dreams you hate to lose.
There's no harm. We've all been waiting.
well keep your faith. Do what you choose.
Singin' more of a lifetime

Pre-Perry Journey is viciously underrated. I remember playing this album at full blast driving through the desert night up I-15 , and it was like being in a different world.

@Brandon Suggs Well they have a myriad of Journey Through Time stuff here on YouTube, so have at it, and enjoy. It is almost as good as going back the the mid 70's concerts. Ok not really, but damn it is as good as it can be decades later.

@Todd Stevens wait wut I'm only 32 so I would love to see them do their old artful stuff!

@Broken Teeth Album Reviews Yep...I basically consider early Journey a completely different band, and I like the different iterations for different reasons. I admit I like the later stuff with Jonathan Cain and Steve Perry more, but that doesn't mean this older stuff isn't good.

@Stormspark same thing happened to me along with LITF and Next years back when I was in my early 20s I'm almost 30 now and LOVE the first 5 albums

@Chris Green I don't know what record company they were with at this time I'm forgetting on the seathink on the CD what it said maybe it was CBS. But they were pretty much forced to take on Steve Perry. Their albums really weren't going anywhere they were just a regional cult band. You know the Steve Perry albums were not bad albums that happened to be great albums. Overall I think journey has written a hell of a catalog of songs Really think about what album is really suck ? I think evolution was so so although I've listened to it and I've gotten a greater appreciation for it but other than that I can't think of one album that stinks. I've listened to trial by fire and it's kind Of a mixed feeling with it. It's the same old stuff. This is the reason why I thought raised on radio was such a great album because it was kind of going back to their earlier stuff on the way they were reaching back into the earlier stuff and it seemed more contemporary but you could hear bits and pieces of the old journey in there. That's really what they should have done is gone back to this stuff from the 1st 3 albums even infinity , Departure. You can't argue that infinity was a great album.

This was the first song I played on my first killer stereo back in 1974 and from 4:35 to the end of the song I defy you to find a more intense 2 minutes and 17 seconds of rock. Just awesome! Never tire, even at 62 years of age.

But..there was a group called Derby's Killrockers. Very rare band that had this amazing riff that is, in legend, said to be the best in rock history. All the greats know about Derby's Killrockers.

Tacticalix

It is awesome.

@Theo Sometimes True. Those early 3 lps would benefit from a remix.
