1. Formed by Nagy Feró and Németh Alajos in 1982, Budapest, Hungary, Bikini is one of the most successful Hungarian rock band of the eighties. Nagy Feró's (also known as "the cockroach of the nation", as he called himself) former punk band, the legendary Beatrice split up in 1982, after having serious problems with communist authorities, when they formed this band.
The band music and lyrics was, like much of the communist era, filled with hidden meanings against the oppression. With Nagy Feró in the front of the Bikini they produced two studio albums, which were very progressive, post modern punk rock albums. Their debut was "Hová lett?" (1983), followed by the "XX. századi híradó" (1984) one year later. However as the eroding of Hungarian communist regime became more obvious and faster, Feró left the Bikini for reuniting the Beatrice.
In 1985 D. Nagy Lajos arrived to the band as a lead singer, when they progressed to a more accessible and melodic rock sound, and produced legendary and very successful hit songs like "Közeli helyeken" or "Ki visz haza?", which are still very popular and often played in Hungary. The band split up in 1992 but reunited in 1997.
Members are: D. Nagy Lajos, Németh Alajos, Lukács Peta, Mihalik Viktor, Makovics Dénes, Bördén Szabolcs.
Some former members are:
Nagy Feró (vocals 1982-85), Vedres Joe (guitar 1982-91, 1997-1998), Németh Gábor (drums, 1982-1985), Berecz Endre (drums, 1989-1991), Hirleman Bertalan (drums, 1985-1989, 1997-1998), Gallai Péter (keyboards 1985-2003), Daczi Zsolt (guitar 1991-2004), Csillag Endre (guitars 2004-2006), Kató Zoltán (saxophone, 1989-1998).

2. Bikini (electro-pop dance music duo) is Nigel Diamond and Olivier Olivier. Their music is like Salinger on MDMA. Diamond is originally from Miami and Olivier was classically trained at the Royal Conservatory.
Olivier Olivier is the son of the late Indian poet Fateh Bains and moved to Canada where he attended Glen-Lyon Norfolk School, a school chosen for its musical program affiliated with the Royal Conservatory of Music. It was here Olivier met Nigel Diamond, who was sent down after he was expelled from his previous school.
It wasn’t until after Glen-Lyon Norfolk that the two began to make music together. Olivier composes all the melodies in the fall of each year, drawing his inspiration from the poetry he writes during the summer. He records vocals, exports all his drafts without titles or form to Diamond. Diamond spends the following spring arranging Olivier's melodies, rhythm sequences and vocal treatments, adding his own lines. The result is a finished record. Nothing is sent back to Olivier. The songs are then sent from Diamond to be mastered and released.

Ma is nyílik néhány bolt,
Még a forgalom sem más,
Minden úgy van, ahogy mindig volt.
A kocsma áll a sarkon túl,
Csak a cégtábla új.
2. Lenn a klubban esténként
Forog a szó a lányokról,
3. Mindig megy tovább a show,
Az is elmúlt, ami nem volt jó.
Fáradt áradat sodor,
Semmi nincs, ami állandó.
Rövid láncon hosszú tánc,
Amit mindig jársz.

The lyrics of Bikini's song "Very az élet" describe a neighborhood where life seems to have disappeared. The first verse sets the scene, mentioning the construction of a few houses and the opening of some new stores. However, despite these changes, the overall atmosphere and traffic remain the same as it has always been. The only noticeable difference is the new sign of a pub around the corner.
In the second verse, the focus shifts to the nightlife in a club. It is mentioned that a few guests gather there every evening. Conversations revolve around the girls, and they express a desire to take anyone who is interested. However, the dawn does not bring a beautiful sight, suggesting that the consequences of this lifestyle might not be as pleasant as initially thought.
The chorus reflects on the disappearance of life in their neighborhood. The lyrics suggest that the spirit of life remains, even though the tangible presence of it has vanished. There used to be good music playing, just like anywhere else, and the singer recalls when they would receive calls from neighbors instead of from far away.
The third verse paints a picture of a constant show, where even the things that weren't good have come and gone. Everything feels like a tired torrent, lacking any stability. The metaphor of a short chain and a long dance is used to convey the repetitive nature of their existence.
The final chorus repeats the sentiment of the missing life in their neighborhood, with the added hope that they are still a few who preserve its essence. The lyrics express a desire for a possible return, suggesting that if any path leads back, they will wake up at the singer's home.
Overall, "Very az élet" reflects on the changes and losses experienced in a neighborhood, highlighting the absence of vibrant life while acknowledging the perseverance of its spirit and the longing for its return.
