The cast is second behind The Beatles for most chart appearances by a group act in the Billboard Hot 100's history, and holds the record of sixth overall among all artists, with sixty-nine appearances. The cast has sold over thirty six million and over eleven million albums worldwide. The series' cover versions have also had a positive effect on the original recording artists, with sales of Rihanna's "Take a Bow" increasing by 189 percent after the song was covered in the Glee episode "Showmance".
The series features covers of numerous songs sung on-screen by the characters. Musical segments typically take the form of performances, as opposed to the characters singing spontaneously, as the intention is for the series to remain reality-based. Murphy is responsible for selecting all of the songs used, and strives to maintain a balance between show tunes and chart hits, as: "I want there to be something for everybody in every episode. That's a tricky mix, but that's very important — the balancing of that." Song choices are integral to script development, with Murphy explaining: "Each episode has a theme at its core. After I write the script, I will choose songs that help to move the story along."
Glee is choreographed by Zach Woodlee, and features five to eight production numbers per episode. Once music rights are cleared, songs are arranged and pre-recorded by the cast. Woodlee constructs the accompanying dance moves, which are then taught to the cast and filmed. Numbers can take several weeks to prepare, depending on complexity. Each episode costs at least $3 million to produce, and can take up to 10 days to film as a result of the elaborate choreography.

There is somethin’ goin' down, and I can feel it
On the waves of the air, there is dancin' out there
If it's somethin' we can share, we can steal it
And that sweet city woman, she moves through the light,
Controlling my mind and my soul
And then I get
The night fever, night fever, we know how to do it
Gimme the night fever, night fever, we know how to show it
Here I am, prayin' for this moment to last,
Livin' on the music so fine, born on the wind,
Makin' it mine
And then I get
The night fever, night fever, we know how to do it (ahh)
Gimme the night fever, night fever, we know how to show it
In the heat of our love, don't need no help for us to make it
Gimme just enough to take us to the mornin'
I got fire in my mind, I get higher in my walkin',
And I'm glowin' in the dark, I give you warnin'
And that sweet city woman, she moves through the light,
Controlling my mind and my soul
When you reach out for me, yeah, and the feelin' is right,
And then I get
The night fever, night fever, we know how to do it
Feels like forever, baby, don't you know it
Gimme the night fever, night fever, we know how to show it
Here I am, prayin' for this moment to last,
Livin' on the music so fine, born on the wind,
Makin' it mine
Night fever, night fever, we know how to do it
(Feels like forever, baby don't you know it)
Gimme the night fever, night fever, we know how to show it
(Feeling forever don't you know it)
Gimme the night fever, night fever, we know how to do it
(Feels like forever, baby don't you know it)
Gimme the night fever, night fever, we know how to show it (ooh)
Gimme the night fever, night fever, we know how to do it
(Feels like forever, baby don't you know it)
Gimme the night fever, night fever
The lyrics of "Night Fever" by the Glee Cast are all about expressing the joy one feels when they're immersed in the energy of a nighttime party or dance. The song begins with a description of movement and liveliness all around, and the suggestion that something exciting is going to happen. The singer then describes a woman who moves through the light and exerts a powerful control over his mind and soul. This woman is likely a metaphor for the euphoria and excitement of the atmosphere of the party, which is embodied in the music and dancing.
The singer then imagines a moment of close connection with another person on the dance floor, where everything feels just right. This is the moment where the singer "gets" the "night fever," or the feeling of being completely swept up in the energy of the night. From there, the lyrics express a deep sense of pleasure and satisfaction in being part of this glorious moment, dancing and partying along with everyone else.
Overall, "Night Fever" is a celebration of the excitement and joy of a nighttime party, and the way in which music and dancing can bring people together in a moment of euphoria.

Well tbh it's just a quirk of Ryan Murphy not being able to write anything great for two of the real winner of glee project. When watching it, I knew immediately Unique will be the one who will stay on the show despite only winning two slots of this season, simply because she could do drag and that is just potential for good character development.

I adore him:( he was definitely super underrated. That's one of the only things I don't really like about glee. There's so many characters with so much potential that they kind of just push aside.
