She was born in Chipiona, Cádiz, Spain and was nicknamed "The Greatest".
Jurado began performing flamenco at a very young age, debuting on the big screen in 1962 with "Los guerrilleros", acting alongside Manolo Escobar. She also played a main role in 1966's "Proceso a una estrella" and 1971's "Una chica casi decente". While temporarily living in Argentina, the Spanish diva participated in a successful musical called "La zapatera prodigiosa", based on Federico García Lorca's work. After teaming with composer Manuel Alejandro, Rocío Jurado became a major and beloved figure on the Latin music scene, acclaimed throughout America and Spain after releasing "Muera el amor" and "Señora", among other hits.

The beginning of Rocío Jurado's song, "Amor de Noche" talks about how love takes over the night with the deserted forest as the only witness. The desire to be with each other follows, accompanied by hands and the always uncertain and sweet journey. The lyrics suggest that the love between the two characters is so strong that it's as if everything else ceases to exist. They are lost in each other's presence, and nothing else matters as they both desire the same sensual and amorous experience.
As the song continues, the two characters make love and forget themselves, consumed by the sheer intensity of their feelings. They express themselves, using words that might have been forgotten over time, but their voices are different and partly interrupted. They experience fever that can only be satisfied by yielding to each other. They embark on a journey together, towards the unknown, while writing their names in the book of love.
