In an era when any album can be broken up and listened to piecemeal and in any order, this one should not. This is perhaps my least-listened-to TSFH/Bergersen album because it is simply too powerful, and I enjoy it too much, to treat it lightly. I have to listen to it all, all the way through, with my attention undivided. To me it deserves nothing less, though it's a considerable investment of time. And this piece, while the shortest, is the climax of the entire work in my mind. "Return to Sender" exists much to ease you back out of the delicious agony and make you whole again. Dang, this all sounds so pretentious, but this movement hits me SO hard as I press forward, having lost both my parents and two sisters, and each year come one step closer to my own inevitable death. Mister Bergersen captures so intensely how I feel in those dark moments I allow myself to contemplate that eventuality.

Man I think you've hit the nail on the head, just listened to the entire album from start to finish and I quite agree that's how it should be listened. Your line on on "Return to Sender" being the piece that eases you back out of the delicious agony of "Wither All Life and Love" could not be put better, those two tracks are not mutually exclusive, they have to be listened one after the other, and finally while listening to this piece I couldn't put a finger the core emotion I was feeling from it, and "delicious agony" pretty much sums it up, there's also a sense of beauty in this agony with an underlying feeling of impending doom from what I got from this piece. In short, some great sentiment good sir.

I'm interested in what do others feel from this piece,
I have seen some comments it should be more grimm, or the name suggests it should be,
I don't see it as overhyped, like, NO, it's so heavy, when I first heard it my chest felt like I couldn't breathe and it reminded me of some depressive episodes I had lately,
that graduation in mindflow, nervous ticking - like someone's shaking, the pain behind those violin and piano parts transitioning perfectly into a voice that mimics the main path of thoughts that fights with the others for space (trumpets) or like two points of view fighting for which is better, a sence of giving up, loosing breath, screaming "WHY?!" to a wall while crying eyes out, and then the sudden volume-down when everythings shuts the fuck up and you realize how pointless all this is and at the same time you still feel how the loud part echoes

or rather how I interpret it from my point of view

I hear bittersweet reminiscence. The way the notes progress at the beginning give it a slightly happy tone, but the end of the musical phrases turn it into something darker. I see someone remembering happier times, but becoming increasingly upset because they can never get it back.

This is the soundtrack to strife, sorrow, and suffering. For that reason I both love and hate this song. I love this song in it's ability to effectively create these emotions. I hate this song for how dark it is.

I feel a bit sad when I heard such a powerful and soul written piece, then think TSFH just have a bit more than 1M subscribers, and less than 100k people did enjoy such a music.
Damn, ofc this isn't very important and 100k is already a lot but .. that's still pretty sad.

I notice that a lot, too, but I that's because most people don't listen to their music on the official TSfH channel. If you look up their most popular songs you'll find videos with many more clicks that aren't uploaded by TSfH but other people, I think that's one of the main reasons

@jcoghill2 I recall reading somewhere that he aqcuired a masters degree in composition and arrangement from Trondheim Music Conservatory in Norway, but I don't know if that is completely accurate although it makes sense. He also said that he is completely self taught in the music departement.

Sometimes I find people complaining about the fact, that they were born in the wrong era, because composers like Mozart or Vivaldi are dead and they can't listen to their music back in their times when they were directly present in the theatres.
However, masterpieces like this show that we were born in the right era. We can listen to our favourite compositions any time we want, not only in theatre. And what's even more important, we wouldn't know composers such as Thomas Bergersen, Nick Phoenix, Hans Zimmer, Marcus Warner...
I just wanted to point out how lucky we are that we can listen to so great masterpieces like this any time we want. This music is like door to another world, where is everything possible, where we can be anybody and do anything...

True. Also having lived in Mozart or whoever else's era probably meant not being able to listen to the music of said composer, unless you were lucky enough to be born into one of the richer families of society.

So I was just looking at the image displayed for most of this piece when I noticed the letters "CV" on either side of the image. The Roman Numerals for the number 105. There is a TSFH video on YouTube with the Index number in the URL as 105. This Video is the piece "Victory" from the album "Battlecry". It is also TSFH's most watched video. I would like to know if this is an impossible coincidence or was made for the one person curious enough to look.

Hello, Two Steps from Hell.
I've noticed that on YouTube Music, most of your latest releases are all called "Unleashed (Feat. Merethe Soltvedt)", even though that is not their name.
I'd appreciate it if this could be fixed because it's very confusing trying to find songs when they all have that name.
Does anyone else have this problem, or is it just me?

I had a look at it and you're right, this song has the name Unleashed on YT music. I'm afraid that YT Music isn't the best way to listen to TSFH, especially because some uploads on the official YT channel have horrible quality (looking at SkyWorld) and the service itself isn't perfect - some albums are missing, Archangel has a wrong cover, it has mislabeled songs etc.
The mislabeled songs possibly come from the fact that YT draws the titles by comparing the uploads to some database of music, hence it mixes up uncompressed mixes, instrumentals and full versions. Just a guess by the looks if it.
