Austin has scored over twenty five feature films, most notably the 2009 Sundance hit GRACE, as well as the 2008 Sundance Audience Award winner CAPTAIN ABU RAED. The latter was listed by the LA Times as a contender for the 2009 Academy Awards for 'Best Original Score' and also won Austin the Hollywood Music Award for "Best New Composer." The combined success of those films, along with several others, prompted The Hollywood Reporter to list Austin as one of 15 composers "Primed to take their place on the A-list," as well as a nomination by the International Film Music Critics Association for "Breakout Composer of the Year."
In addition to feature films, Austin has a tremendous passion for the world of game scoring. His first major game score for thatgamecompany's flOw in 2006 earned Austin a British Academy Award nomination and triple nominations at the Game Audio Network Guild awards ("Innovative use of Audio," "Best Interactive Score" and winning for "Rookie of the Year."). Perhaps most notably, his score for thatgamecompany's much lauded 'Journey' (2012) debuted as #1 in iTunes' game soundtrack charts (Grammy 2012 nominated for Best Score Soundtrack For Visual Media).
Austin also maintains a busy schedule writing concert music and composing/producing albums. In addition to more traditional chamber and orchestral music, in 2010 he released a meditation album entitled "Sounds of Darkness" using never-before recorded sacred Aztec chants. 2010 also saw the launch of Allogamy, an ambitious blog in collaboration with photographer Andrew Berglund which posts a new photo with a new piece of music for every single day in the year.
Beyond composing, Austin is also a strong advocate for music in the schools, particularly in early education, and as such is a very active memeber on the Board of Directors for Education Through Music - Los Angeles (alongside composers John Debney, Christopher Young, Michael Giacchino, James Dooley and many other music, business and education professionals).

For some reason, I feel like soundtrack to "The Crossing" and "Reclamation" was the saddest part in the game besides Apotheosis. It's probably because you are a little alone with the lonely music, the scenery changes to gloomy snow and/or you know that you are reaching the end of your journey in which you will eventually drop down frozen. :(

Across the stars, across the moon, Across the hills of sunny boon. Attend the need that all could be, For the likely end and the destiny. The crossing gate that journey close, To remain and fade like distant ghost. Reaching to wonder that many would follow, For dreams and truth and common sorrow.

I can`t believe that my brother and friends thought this game was bad! And whenever I told them the riddle of this game, they just laughed like fools.

I've played this game through so many times, I've lost count. Sometimes I had an amazing journey with an experienced traveler, others I aided those who were new to the adventure. Sometimes I was completely alone... No matter the way I played, or who I went with, this game touched my heart on so many levels. The soundtrack, the graphics, the scenery.... Everything was breathtaking. I'm so sad to know there won't be more to this enchanting Journey, but I'll keep playing anyways. <3

Once I've traveled with a newrobe through this level, I tried my best to lead him, but he was probably uncertain about when to follow or not. Once he ran for the next hiding place to soon and got hit. I've hurried to his side, trying to comfort him. Shortly before the end we ran into a trap, where two warmachines came from two sides. The first one missed, but the second detected us. I stood still so my partner could run away. However, he didn't run for the exit. He just returned to look for me.

WHY DID YOU HAVE TO MAKE ME CRY AHHHHHHHHHH

I lost my companion in this part. It was my first time playing, and I think it was his first time too. I figured out how to sneak past the war machine, but when I turned around, my companion was still back at the beginning of the area, as if he couldn't figure out how to time his movements to avoid the machine. Before I could head back and lead him along, he was caught by the machine and attacked. I never saw him again. ;__;

This part was scary with all the robo cyborg snakes flying around out in the open. >.<
