The lyrics of Googoosh's song Gheseh Doh Mahie tell the story of two fish who lived in the deep blue sea, carefree and without sorrow. They were colorful and beautiful with their rainbow scales and their laughter would reach up to the clouds. Whenever one of the fish was sad or worried, the other would take that burden upon themself. Their world was complete and perfect, like a pearl-filled shell, until another predatory bird came and took one of them away, leaving the other alone and heartbroken.
