Je N'ai Plus Rien A Te Donner

Le soleil dans les yeux
On croit plus à l'amour
Et l'on se sent si vieux
Les tremblements d'cœur
Les frissons sur la peau
Juste après la douceur
On se tourne le dos
À garder les blessures
On appelle au secours
On se dit des mots durs
Je n'ai plus rien à te donner
Que ma tendresse et mon passé
Des caresses, des promesses, des baisers
Tu sais c'est terminé
Je n'ai plus rien à te donner
Que mon espoir et mes pensées
Les miroirs des mémoires déformés
En nous se sont cassés
Je n'ai plus rien à te donner
Tout s'arrête un jour
Envahi par le vide
On a tout le retour
Comme un enfant livide
Les après-midi
Les statues des jardins
Se meurent avec l'ennui
Dans le creux de nos reins
Je n'ai plus rien à te donner
Que ma tendresse et mon passé
Des caresses, des promesses, des baisers
Tu sais c'est terminé
Je n'ai plus rien à te donner
Que mon espoir et mes pensées
Les miroirs des mémoires déformés
En nous se sont cassés
Je n'ai plus rien à te donner
Tout s'arrête un jour
On s'endort sous la pluie
On s'en va pour toujours
On est déjà partis
The lyrics of "Je n'ai plus rien à te donner" by Marc Lavoine talk about the end of a relationship where there's nothing left to give to one another. The song starts with lines that express a feeling of loss and disappointment, where the singer has stopped believing in love and feels old. The tremors of the heart and the shivers on the skin, after moments of sweetness, make them turn their backs on each other. They have both been scarred and are calling for help but only end up saying hard words to one another.
In the chorus, the singer admits that there's nothing left to offer but their tenderness and their past. The caresses, promises, and kisses that they've shared are now memories of a relationship that has ended. The mirrors that reflect their memories are now broken, and they don't know if they can trust their recollections of the past. The verses mention the feeling of emptiness and the sense of return, like a livid child, to past experiences.
The song conveys a deep sense of sadness, regret, and having lost something important. The melody and Marc Lavoine's voice add to the emotion of the lyrics. The song is a beautiful and poignant portrayal of the end of a relationship and the feelings that come with it.
