The song Sarva Sarva Visaru De by Asha Bhosle is a soulful rendition that speaks about the struggles of life and the importance of letting go of our burdens. The lyrics urge listeners to forget everything wrong that has happened and not to hold on to them. The phrase "Sarva Sarva Visaru De" means "forget everything, everything," which reinforces the idea of releasing one's troubles in order to move forward. The line "Yeth Jeev Jadvinhe Hach Hotsa Gunha" translates to "The fault lies in life and death, that we are both alive and dead," which suggests that the duality of life and death is a burden we all carry, and letting go of it can bring relief. The song also talks about the sadness in the air and how laughter and joy can help dispel that gloom. The verse "Raatr Raatr Jaguni Waat Pahili Kuni..." is about a sleepless night spent in contemplation, dreaming of liberation and freedom from life's struggles.
The concept of liberation, expounded in the lyrics, is something that has been explored in Hindu philosophy and literature for centuries. Some of the ideas in the song are taken from Indian spirituality, such as reincarnation and moksha (salvation). The song's lyrics are penned by the renowned Marathi poet G. D. Madgulkar, who was known for his progressive writing and thought-provoking themes. The music is composed by Sudhir Phadke, a famous composer who was known for his innovative sound and instrumentations.
The soulful melody of the tune is captured by playful harmonies that use a combination of brass, strings, and traditional Indian instruments like the dholak and the harmonium. The song is sung in a traditional Marathi style, which adds an ethnic flavor to it. The lyrics were written for a Marathi movie called "Dur Miteyan," which was released in 1955.
