By the time he was 12 (1952), Avalon began making appearances on U.S. television for his trumpet prowess, and as a teenager, played with Bobby Rydell in a band known as Rocco and the Saints. In 1959, his songs "Venus" and "Why?" both went to number one on Billboard magazine's Hot 100. Indeed, "Why" was the last #1 hit of the 1950s.
During the 1960s, Avalon became known for his roles in the Beach Party film genre. Later, he became the U.S. national television spokesperson for Sonic Drive-In.
Where Are You?
Frankie Avalon Lyrics

Where have you gone without me
I thought you cared about me
Where are you
Where's my heart
Where is the dream we started
I can't believe we're parted
Where are you
What had we to gain
When I gave you my love
Was it all in vain
All life through
Must I go on pretending
Where is my happy ending
Where are you
When we said good-bye love
What had we to gain
When I gave you my love
Was it all in vain
All life through
Must I go on pretending
Where is that happy ending
Where are you
Where are you
The song "Where Are You" by Frankie Avalon is about the feeling of loss and loneliness after a breakup. The singer is asking where their former lover has gone, and expresses disbelief that they are no longer together. The lyrics suggest that the singer had believed their love was strong, but now they feel empty and unsure of what the future holds. The final lines of the song express a desire for closure and a sense of resolution, asking where their "happy ending" is.
The song captures the universal experience of heartbreak and the aftermath of a failed relationship. It speaks to the feelings of confusion, sadness, and hopelessness that can come with the end of a romance. Through the simple lyrics and emotional delivery, Frankie Avalon conveys the vulnerability and rawness of this experience, making it relatable to anyone who has ever lost love.

One of the BEST Franie Avalon songs. Beautifully done. Very stylish, Frank's got all his ducks in a row in this one. One of the main reasons he became one of America's great teen IDOLS!

Such a beautiful song & Frankie does a superb job singing it. It's too bad it didn't become as big of a hit as some of his other recordings. I love everything he sings.

My dear mother sang this song after my brother bought the 45 "Venus" (it was the flip side). I still hear her singing it, though she left the earth bodily 49 years ago....I love you Mom. <3
