Ludwig Hirsch Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Oh ja
ich
ich bin heut auáe aus mir.
Da wirds ma z'enghab i ma denkt
komm, nix wie raus aus DirEs war ned leicht
oft hab i g'laubt

i geh dabei d'rauf.
Siehst und Du
Du geh in Dich und bleib drin.
Oh ja
i
i bin heut auáe aus mir.
Bin nicht geschwebt
wie man so glaubt

na
i bin kräult auf alle Vier.
Aber jetzt
jetzt is soweit
jetzt bin i frei.

Siehst und Du
Du geh in Dich und bleib drin.

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Ludwig Hirsch's song "Bleib drin" convey the feeling of being trapped within oneself and the desire to break free from this constricting state. The singer speaks of the moments where they feel like they are going to lose themselves and so they rush to escape their own thoughts and feelings. The lyrics display the difficulty of managing one's own mind and trying to stay grounded. The line "ich bin heut außen aus mir" suggests that the singer feels disconnected from themselves, as if they are observing their own life from the outside. They then encourage the listener to do the opposite and "stay in" and not avoid the discomfort of their personal internal struggles.

The line "na, i bin kräult auf alle Vier" has a sort of double meaning. "Kräult" is a Viennese term for "on all fours" but it also sounds very similar to "gekrümmt" which can be translated to "bent over". The singer has physically contorted themselves and feels like an animal on all fours. However, this physical manifestation is also a metaphor for the emotional and mental state they are in. They have been brought to their knees by their demons and this is shown in their posture.
