5 piece Melodic-Hardcore band from the Chicago-land area. Formed in 2008 under the name of Cadence, the band saw a name change and some member changes in late 2010. Their debut EP entitled "Wanderer" was released on May 17th, 2011 and is currently available for free download here - http://restore.bandcamp.com/

On April 26th, 2012, the band released a 2 song demo entitled "The Loss In Living" featuring 2 brand new songs which can be downloaded for free.

A full length release for the fall of 2012 is expected.

When I was about nine years old, my father had a very bad motorcycle wreck, which broke his neck, fractured his skull, shattered his ribs, legs, arms, punctured his liver, collapsed both lungs, and countless other things that I don't remember anymore. He was found lying in a ditch by someone about 9 hours after the wreck, and rushed to the nearest ER. It was estimated that his speed upon impact was approx. 160mph. Heroine and alcohol were found in his system, also noted was the fact that he was not wearing a helmet, which ironically saved his life because it would have separated his spinal cord, they said.
He ended up in a coma.
Brain scans revealed that part of his brain was permanently destroyed. They said that if he ever woke up, he'd be a vegetable for the rest of his life, but weren't optimistic about him surviving.
But, he did survive. He was in a coma for 4 months until he woke up, and they were right, he was not the same. He had 15% permanent brain damage, very poor motor skills, stuttering, slurred speech, anger and impulse control problems, etc. He had to relearn everything; it was like teaching a toddler trapped in a broken adult's body.
His accident not only damaged him, but also took a massive toll on the family, which it never recovered from. Financial ruin, rage, abuse, and sadness were the daily norm from then on out.
My father spent the rest of his days in and out of rehab facilities, jails, hospitals, then ultimately prison.

Approx. Late 2014 he was released from prison, and living on the streets. A few months later, Someone gave him a little money to help him get on his feet, which he used to buy a bicycle.
Less than an hour after buying the bicycle, he was hit by a car, and taken to the hospital, where they did another brain scan, and found that the dead part of his brain had formed into a glioblastoma tumor, and gave him 6 months to live......he died two weeks later.
His accident in 1992, killed him 23 years later, and destroyed everyone around him along the way...

If you think you're invincible, you are not.
If you think your actions and decisions affect only you, you are wrong.
Bones heal, wounds heal, but psychological trauma will haunt you for the rest of your life.

Life is delicate, and EVERYTHING you do matters.

My parents were told I wouldn’t wake up but against all odds I did
It felt like I was asleep for 1 second
While recovering my brain was a bit foggy for the first couple weeks but I eventually made a full recovery and I’m happy to say I am now living a completely normal life

I have a very close friend who fall into coma around two weeks ago and yesterday they put a machine to his through in order to breathe, as he could do so before that and I just learned it's getting worse but I feel like not so much as his mother will help him come as some of us, his friends can. I watched my dad fall into coma late last year, and for some reason I actually felt like he was aware of his surroundings yet could not speak nor could he see.
After falling into coma 24hours later, he was pronounced brain dead.

He was always in and out of hospital. But on that day, I held myself, made my peace and let him go.
He always looked up to me as his hero.

And before he went into coma, I had the chance to tell him how much I loved him. Because I looked up to him.
And for that I'm sure he he's at peace.

11 years ago I was in a coma for over 15 days, my nephew and his wife were with me round the clock talking kissing and hugging me which helped me a lot, I was able to recover to the fullest and I had to take physical therapy for a long while but am thankful to my small family for helping me!!! The coma was a level 3!!!

My Mom was in a coma as a result of complication from streptococcus A and pneumonia. When she woke up they put her into a medically induced coma to slow the infection (I think) and she reported dreaming about an angel that told her not to move on. It was really scary because two weeks after she was admitted another, younger woman was admitted with streptococcus A and she died. The doctors think that (and I think I understood what they were trying to explain) that pneumonia some how prevented the streptococcus A from spreading too fast and that the coma actually may have saved her life as it gave them more time to treat the infection. While she did die for a few minuted in the ICU she has since made a full recovery and though she had some long lasting effects with the nerve endings in the bottom of her feet, she is doing fine now. I just hope she doesn't mind me saying all this. :P
TL;DR My mother's life may have been saved by a coma.

Before my granny died, she was in a coma. Like in the sleeping type of coma. We celebrated my brother's birthday by her side. My cousin entered the room with food and drinks and ice cream. This cousin was the black sheep of the family. He would always swear and cause trouble and drink.
But this one night, he sat beside my grandmother and just cried. He begged her to wake up. He told her all he ever wanted was for our family to be complete again. He said this and a bunch of other heartfelt stuff.
When he left, I glanced over to my grandmother and there were tears falling from her eyes.
She heard everything.

This is sort of a personal thing and I just wanted to share my experience with it.

My mom. She was sixteen when she and her first boyfriend were struck by a drunk driver. Drunk driver had a few scratches. Boyfriend was killed. My mom had a shattered body, broken neck, severe head trauma, and was in a coma for six months. She was expected to die, and when that didn't happen, they said she'd be a quadriplegic vegetable for the rest of her life.

Obviously that didn't happen either, or I wouldn't be here. I do know she defied all medical odds in that she survived and made a complete recovery...with one exception. Complete amnesia. She didn't know who she was or who anybody was, and had to start over again from scratch.

All these years later, she does remember some things about her childhood now. You'd never know it happened to her. There are a few minor scars on her body and around her lip area (very faded). They also told her she'd never be able to have kids...again, wrong, as she married and had four of us.

I've seen photos of the wreck...the car was totaled. The guy who struck them also didn't even serve time in prison. Mom's family was in contact with his family, though, for the rest of his life, and through that, I know that he had to live with what he had done for the rest of his days. Maybe, in this case, it was punishment enough.

After many years, she began to remember bits and pieces of her childhood. She also began to remember some of the day of the accident, but she doesn't remember the accident itself. Didn't know who she was; didn't recognize anyone. It's the one piece of damage that truly remained. She had to learn everything all over again...from walking to tying her shoes to reading. Her recovery didn't happen overnight.

My sister was in a deep coma for two months following a car crash. Regaining consciousness was a slow process, but she did come back to us. She has some significant physical and mental disabilities. She now lives on her own with help from social services. Props to all of the rehab specialists, health care professionals, and social workers. My brother and mother have also suffered moderate head injuries. When I was offered the opportunity to do research in traumatic brain injury, I jumped at the chance. Now, as a Ph.D. Biochemist, I am looking for biomarkers for mild traumatic brain injury.

Id love to get advice from you on your educational journey. I have 5 siblings who suffer from Coffin Lowry Syndrome. Luckily they were born able to make some sounds with their mouth, learn some things like how to pick up a utensil and walk. The oldest one with the syndrome is 23 now and he became paralyzed when he turned 20. The doctors could not give us an explanation as to why it happened only telling us that it maybe his syndrome advancing. Now I want to involve myself in learning about how mental illnesses affect the body but no clue where to start. Any advice would help if you could. Thank you

My little brother was in a coma for about six weeks when he was 13 years old after suffering a close head injury which damaged his brain stem. He came out in stages which was interesting while at the same time frustrating. His injury resulted in paralysis and congestive disabilities. Some of his physical disabilities contributed to his eventual passing 17 years later. He was asked numerous times about what it was like being in a coma and if he knew his siblings, parents and friends were in the hospital room with him. He said no but he did say it felt like he had gone to sleep and just woke up.

My grandma's brother was awaken from comma 2 days ago . The doctors thought he was gone , but when he wake up he could talk and he knew people around him . Thank God he is recovering now. I think the reason for the comma is lung canser , because the doctor said they will move him to pulmonary hospital. I hope he is going to recover complatly some day

My grandad was admitted to hospital as he had this nasty cough for a few weeks. he got pneumonia and overnight it got worse. He had many heart attacks and he was revived 3 or 4 times. After this he fell into a coma for a few days, became conscious but then went again. He was in the ICU for 8 weeks and then he had open heart surgery. Thankfully he's alive and is still in touch with one of the nurses that revived him one time. Thanks for reading ❤

Induced coma is indeed the same effect. I was in an induced coma for a week and put on a ventilator since I couldn't breathe on my own obviously. Mother was told there was a big chance I wouldn't make it as I lost so much blood. It was because my mother talked to me during my coma that I survived. It is now a known fact that family must talk to their loved ones who are in a coma. They have a much larger chance of surviving. I am one lucky guy.

I was in a coma for a week after accidentally strangling myself in my sleep 3 years ago. (Yeah I don't know how but I was 12 and moved a lot in my sleep) It could be different for others, but I was in absolutely no state of consciousness and it literally felt like a normal sleep. I remember going to sleep and waking up in hospital I was in a bit of shock at first, this went on for about an hour until I began to understand what had happened. Shortly after I looked at my arm and saw the canola in my arm and I passed out (I hate needles) I woke up after about 30 seconds and they removed it. My head felt quite stuffed like when you wake up after a little bit of sleep. And I had lost my voice completely for about 3 weeks. I felt incredibly weak and took some time to walk properly but I was fine in no time.

I couldn’t hear and feel any touch at all, but my brain was still active and I was having horrific hallucinations I had been everywhere, people were hurting me I was being restrained, I looked over my body. My dad was once in a sort of coma, but it wasn't classed as one because he was only in that state for 4 days (you need to be in a coma-like state for 5 days before you are officially in a coma). He says he felt a wonderful feeling when he was like that and that he was somewhere, but he was clinging on to himself for dear life as if the world was going to shake itself apart.

My friend Mike was in a drug induced coma because he leg was so infected due to diabetes. They didn't expect him to make it through, but he did. He ended up having his left leg amputated just below the knee and lived the rest of his life in a nursing home. I think he lived 8 years after this happened, however sadly Mike passed away earlier in 2016. RIP Mike Hoover you are missed my friend.

I work in a Neuropsychology lab where we focus on looking at the impact a traumatic brain injury (TBI) has to cognitive function, particularly social and emotional cognition. All out TBI participants have been in a coma ranging from a few days to 3 months. One of our participants wrote a book called My Life as a Fish which is a recount of his experiences while in a coma. It's an insightful read if anyone is interested in these types of recounts.

In fact I had the most wonderful dreams -- each one like a peak experience, in harmonic unity with everything and everyone. I also realized that I was paralyzed. I was in a COMA 2.5 weeks; expected to die. I have almost completely recovered except right ear hearing loss and slight partial paralysis of left side of face, but more significantly is what it's done to my emotional wiring. I feel as though I am extremely empathetic to a laughable extent. While watching movies I KNOW are comedy or fiction I feel the of emotions I think those characters feel , to the point of sobbing tears of overwhelming intensity, or while thinking of someone losing a pet or loved one. The same is true of the happiness I feel of people's good fortune, sometimes more extreme than the person themselves, hahaha.

I was in a coma for two days after I was shot in the head. While I was in the coma i was unresponsive. the doctor told my mother there was a 90 per cent chance that I wouldn't wake. When the doc told her this she started to cry and I was told that when I heard her cry I started to kick my leg. Doc was surprised and encouraged her to keep talking to me.. I don't remember any of it. All I remember is waking up from the coma with a tube down my throat and trying to pull it out because I couldn't breathe and then fading back out.

I was in a natural coma when my body decided to fight off an infection. HLH for short, it wasn't like its portrayed in movies. There wasn't a slow motion, or slowing down of time, it was like an instant. one minute I was going home from school and next minute I'm waking up in the hospital with a doctor telling me to wake up and to respond. I was 18 at the time and the disease that I somehow acquired is only common in infants and toddlers. I'm religious, so I can honestly say I did see someone holding my hand in what I would call a dream, an extremely vivid dream. I can't say it was fake since I clearly felt it. It was very calming and very pleasant. Now I know I said time didn't exist and it all went by quick, this is true, but I do have memories of something happening that I can't fully or even logically explain.

Following my awaking from said coma, I underwent physical/cognitive therapy for several months, and I worked for a few years thereafter to regain my grasp of my short-term memory. I had two friends hit by a cop while changing a tire. One in New York and one in Florida. Both went in a coma for a few weeks. Both came out with mental deficiences and had to live with family. One was forty years old when i met him and had to assist him with his daily activities. The other guy was in his twenties and I only saw him a couple times after he woke up..he was so different. He told me that he could hear us talking but couldnt wake up and say anything. When he did wake up I was playing disco on the radio which he hated. When he woke up he yelled...shut that shit off. I wonder if i can credit disco into bringing him out of a coma.

Thanks for this small insight. I was in a coma earlier in the new millennium due to a traumatic brain injury (c. 1 month), then vegetative for another 6 weeks or so. Thanks to superb trauma care and rehabilitation, my intellect remained unscathed, although now I do have very mild symptoms of Asperger, an exacerbated attention-deficit, and I've become obsessive about grammar (even moreso than before).

I was breathing on my own, but because of the morphine to counter cerebral swelling, still had to be intubated until my brain decided not to break out of my skull. Yes, I certainly did not suddenly "wake up" and wonder what happened. I was aware of my surroundings and minimally responsive for much time before it occurred to me to even wonder why I was in the hospital with a neck-brace and feeding tube. Eventually I was able to assimilate the magnitude of my medical condition, and move back to functionality.

The closest thing for me was being under General Anesthetia for a 2 hour operation or so I was told it would take about that long. I was super nervous before the surgery and as soon as they gave me the anesthesia through an IV I was out and the next thing I know I wake up about 2 and a half hours later in a different room and I felt like no time at all passed almost as if I just skipped ahead in time but I felt the most well rested I've ever felt. I could barely move for about half an hour or so after I woke up and for a short time couldn't tell my left from my right.

I remember being put into a medically induced coma after in depth neuro-surgery to resect a brain tumor. I deal with several physical limitations with my mobility, despite in depth, and extensive therapies by excellent therapists, and great treatment by great doctors to help me regain that. While assistive devices help a lot, and give me back several functions, they're no replacement for the real thing.

He would fade in and out of sleep, talked nonsense, shouted for help repeatedly or moaned, and had to be strapped down once because he was pulling out the tubes for his medications. When my dad was 18 years old he went on a date with a girl. While driving to a scenic "makeout point" a hubcap fell off the car he was driving. He pulled over and went to grab it and while he was in the middle of the road another motorist came around the corner and hit him. He died 3 times in the ER and was in a coma for 8 days. When he woke up he went from being an honor student, with perfect memory that could play multiple instruments and speak several languages, to the behavior and mental capacity of a 4 year old. He had bouts of sever aggression and had to relearn all his basics. After several months of various rehabs (physical and mental) he got back to "normal". Though, he lost the ability for perfect recall, couldn't play most of his instruments and had lost most of the non-native languages that he had learned over the years. He's now 50, and still (has my whole life) struggled with his memory, he's more like the absentminded professor now in some ways. Still very smart, but pretty likely to forget plans if they fall outside of what would be the norm for the day.

When I was 17 , my brother had gotten into a car accident, he barely survived and was in the hospital with doctors working on him for hours trying to keep him alive, after days of worrying the doctors had given us the news that he was alive but in a coma, his brain had taken a lot of trauma, every day for 2 years I visited him hoping that he'd be awake when I entered the room, but he wasn't, I ha given up hope after many many months, I thought he was going to die, in my sophomore year of college I received the news that my brother had woken up, I took the first flight home, I rushed straight out of the airport and arrived at his hospital, I was in such a rush to meet him that I didn't even bring anything with me for the trip, except for one thing....a pack of razor blades so he could shave his face.

My type one diabetes presented with a coma brought on by ketoacidosis in 2015. It happened halfway through my first band camp so we thought the symptoms were just me being severely dehydrated and exhausted from the physical labor, which made me drink a whole bunch of Gatorade that was loaded with sugar, which of course made it worse. I ended up being found on my bedroom floor and I got airlifted to Seattle children's hospital. I spent 36 hours in a coma and a week in ICU for kidney failure brought on by the ketoacidosis. When I was 2 or 3, my mom fell into a coma for unknown reasons but woke up after 2-3 weeks. She had to do mental and physical therapy including learning how to walk again, but eventually, she was able to make an almost full recovery with some brain damage. Because of her brain damage, she has to sleep a few hours extra daily, almost always feels a little dizzy and sometimes feels nauseous. I'm pretty thankful that my mom was able to practically make a full recovery since her chances of waking up from her coma weren't that great.

About three weeks ago a few of my good friends got in a very bad car accident. Two of them were juniors in high school, and the other was a senior in high school. Two of them were almost fine and had few injuries, but one (a junior 17 years old) had to be airlifted from the crash scene. I know someone that was in a coma and on life support. The doctors told her mom to pull the plug because she would be in a veg state the rest of her life. The mom just couldn't bring herself to pull the plug. The family got mad at her for putting her daughter through this. Months later the daughter woke up and they took her off of life support and today she is as healthy as can be.

I was in a coma for 3 days because I fell off an 80ft cliff. I have made a full recovery. My best friend choked on some meat, died for 14 mins, was resuscitated, stuck in a coma for 3 days while on a ventilator, and then died the 3rd day. Because of a piece of meat that was a little too big.

I think it's all just a matter of luck. I could of easily died, but I didn't. Things could have easily been different for my friend, but they weren't. I believe that life is out of our control. My friend had 2 nurses in the room when he started choking, his parents, but even with all their experience and effort to stop him from choking, to get his heart beating again, it was all in vein. I do believe you should work your hardest to improve your life every day, but don't put all of your bucket list items on hold for a later date because the only time you are guaranteed for is right now. So live your life to the fullest, while you still can.

My grandmother was brought to the hospital and was later on admitted there due to some lung complications. The doctors prescribed a certain sort of white blood injection in order to help her and they needed the medicine in a span of a week. My uncle went to different pharmacies but unfortunately, there was only one who sells it and they were currently out of stock. So we had to order it and have it delivered to us. Strangely, he had the worst injuries of the 5 teens and the only one to be wearing a seatbelt. But when he came out of the coma, he could not talk for several days and had a vacant look and matter about him as well. He was able to go back to school that Fall and still did well in his classes. I think it would be cool if you could dream in a coma, and maybe something along the lines of understanding the dream as it happens. (Sorta like being lucid, but you can't be conscious in a coma.) And to a degree the dream has a story. Maybe the story could go along the lines of meeting a goal, and once it is met, you wake up! In essence you could go on some kind of adventure in your "coma dream" and the when the goal for said adventure, be it slaying a dragon to save a village or fight off a demigod to save the world (just examples of for this rambling) is met, then you wake up.

OBVIOUSLY this isn't the case, I'm just saying that it would be so cool if it was. hehe

My dad has type 1 diabetes but never found this out until he was in his thirties when he fell into a diabetic coma for a couple weeks. He fully recovered and is now managing his condition, instead of drinking 2 pints of milk a day.

Two years ago, my grandma had 2 heart attacks. After the surgery she had been in a coma for a night, and the day after, she woke up, crying and she phoned me very scared. Before waking up, she was asked if she had kids, what was her name, but it was a bit unconscious. After the phone, she completely gained consciousness, even if her heart stopped for 7 minutes when she had the second heart attack.

I suffered necrotizing faciitis throughout my torso and was comatose for about a week. On and off I was vaguely aware of what was going on around me, but completely misinterpreted events. During a thunderstorm I thought pirates were crashing through the windows. All the while I was "asleep" , I was having amazing adventures; I didn't want to wake up. I've tried recording these dreams but what I write is so flat compared to the experience. Has anyone else experienced something similar?

MY friend has been in a vegetative state for over 9 months. He was a lawyer and to see him in this state is heart breaking. The uncertainty of him ever getting out of his coma like state is killing his family.

I was in a coma for over two months after a really bad car accident. I was 12 years old. When I woke I had to learn how to walk, talk, eat, and form a coherent thought all over again. That took about a month, and then a few more months after that to bring to a more "acceptable" standard. Then for a few years after that there was the difficulty of fitting in with my peers, who I felt strange and separate from. I am now 21 years old and I'm finally at a good place in my life. I'm finishing college with good grades, I have friends, and I'm finally becoming more confident in who I am. I owe a lot of thanks to my family for helping me through my recovery. I don't know what I'd do without them.

I was in a comma for 3 days after I crashed into a school. it took me 1 month to get back to running and I feel normal now. after seeing this video I feel bless that I haven't had longer effects so far and I'm thankful I'm awake. it's been 6 months since my comma I hope i dont have effects later on

My mother had a random brain aneurysm out of no where, she was in a coma in the ICU for 4 days with zero brain activity and when taken off the machines, her body didn't breathe on its own. 😔 this was 2011.. Still miss her every single day. Cherish your loved ones as I had no clue this would ever happen to her. One second she was talking to me and the next she had a brain aneurysm. Which can happen to anyone of any age at any second. Some people recover from them no problem, some people won't even know they had one.. And then some as in my mothers case, die from them.

I used to be a race car driver! On, 6/8/12, I was involved in a freak racing accident that put me into a 23 day long coma!! You would never even know that I was in a coma before, as I've healed that well. The doctors told my parents that I wouldn't survive my injuries, so not only did I surprise my doctors by waking up from my coma, but their completely amazed with my mental and physical recovery! Sadly, I can't ever race again, but I'm not complaining, as I could be so much worse off! Did you know that a person can hit their head hard enough to make both of their eye balls move a few millimeters in different directions? After 3 eye operations, while my vision isn't at 100%, it has healed enough to allow me to drive again, YAY!!

I have been in a coma, for about 3 weeks. it was brought on by pnumonia, which claimed all but the size of a quarter-dollar of my lungs. the doctors told my mother there was "a very good chance he will not make it." when i woke, i recognized my big brother almost immediately, but i didnt recognize my mother for a little while. I was able to make a full recovery since.

Reading through the comments and realising that there's actually a lot of people who got coma from traffic incidents and some didn't even make it....... maybe we should start driving safely and following traffic pedestrians rules but even that can't guarantee a 100% no accident from traffic

I was in a coma in December 2005 for three weeks after been hit by a car. I have an ABI where I lost my ability to read write and speak, which was incredibly frustrating. and with the trauma to my brain, I have no memory of the accident happening and it was quite blurry. But during the coma the only this I remember was a 'dream' which is the only word i can use to what it could have been.
In this dream, I was in pink fluffy pj's going up an escalator and I remember being so so happy. when I got to the top of the escalator, all I could see was clouds and I was in awe. I walk on and then in front of me, the Pearly Gate. Behind the gates, I saw my for grandparents, who had all passed away before my accident and I approached them and especially my two grandmothers told be: "Jenny go away, come back in 70 years" I remember being devastated and just left. That was it.

I remember telling my Dad after I woke and hardly able to talk it wasn't very easy, but I mentioned one of my gran's by her nickname 'Nuna' and he knew I wasn't making it up.

Now, I'm sitting here, 11 years later, typing this up, with a few typo's but, hey, I do have my BA and MSc, not showing off!!! :-D

So one lesson I learned in a hard way: CROSS THE ROAD AT THE PEDESTRIANS LIGHTS!!! :-)

I appreciate your videos, they help "everyday" people better understand our world. Yes, the Physician orders medications but they do not manage them. I'm a Neuro Trauma ICU RN and I do more than just move my patients around. I am the one who manages ALL medications. By managing I am referring to titrating vaso-active (norepinephrine, phenylephrine, vassopressin, cardene, etc...), sedation (Versed, ketamine, propofol, precedex, etc..), and many other drugs. I would appreciate if you would take the time to better understand what my profession does. Nursing is such a broad profession with many different skill sets.

My coma was ten days. I didn't even know it because I went to sleep and stopped breathing in my sleep. I dreamed, my life flashed before me in my dreams. Woke up most of my hearing was gone, and still is. I was told I was ranked 3. They were going to pull my plug before I suddenly started responding to my husband and baby's voice

Just read the paper this morning a guy turned out to have a brain tumour size of a ball and doctors thought he woudnt make it, the doctors where amazed to see him responding after the operations but only hours later he fell into a 7 month coma. Real scary how that can happen even though you survived a brain op for tumor removal

my uncle was in a coma for two months (a few years before I was even born... he was in his young thirties then instead of his late fifties) and made a full recovery. 3 decades later and he goes power boating, owns a large accounting business, and even got remarried lmao

Coma patient from 28 years ago, with a GCS low of 8 for 10 days, then upgraded to a GCS 13 for approximately 20 days where I was awake, and somewhat conscious.

During the 10 day deep coma, I was completely unaware of anything, including time. So the time from just prior to accident and waking up to raise a couple of fingers was instantaneous. Then I was slowly coming out of the coma over the next 3 weeks.

My mom was in a coma after a ruptured anurysm in her brain... She never woke up, the damage was too great and she wasnt breathing on her own. All that was working was what was keeping her heart beating.

My dad was in a coma recently (2 weeks ago), he didn't survive. He had the most basic brain function (telling the machine he wanted to take a breath, which he lost that ability less than 24 hours later). He was pretty much brain dead. They THINK what happened (this was after he had major surgery and was fine until about 20 hours later) he went into cardiac arrest. They resuscitated his heart, but he wouldn't respond. We know he wouldn't want to "live" that way. He would not recover. We decided it would be better to let him go. I was horrible. He had muscle spasms due to the lack of oxygen. He went 4-7 minutes (probably closer to 7 maybe longer) without oxygen going to his brain.

I spent five weeks in a coma, have no lasting brain injury, can still take care of myself and my family and drive my car etc etc. I don’t remember 99% of my hospital stay and the brain surgeries but I woke to my bf begging me to breathe, he said my eyes popped open and I gasped and grabbed him. I can’t imagine how scary those five weeks were for him, but I know one thing and that is I sure am lucky he was there otherwise I wouldn’t be here right now. He and I are still together he’s asleep right now and let me tell ya it’s beyond amazing being alive I’m happy finally idk a lot has happened and I can’t explain a lot of it but I’m not taking anything for granted ever again
