Cri-Cri is known as the "grillito cantor" or "the singing cricket". He is a character created by Francisco Gabilondo Soler in his childhood and may even be considered "his inner personality"
The character became so famous and gave its author such renown, that it became a second name for Gabilondo. In the mid part of the 20th century he became the most recognizable singer of children's songs in Spanish. Gabilondo's dedication to this segment of the population has been greatly admired, comparable to Walt Disney in his honest approach to making life fun for those who are getting started in life.
El Baile De Los Muñecos
Cri-Cri Lyrics

los muñecos se paran a bailar.
La casa está dormida
y nadie los verá,
y salen de sus cajas
dispuestos a gozar.
The song "El Baile De Los Muñecos" by Cri-Cri is a playful narrative that describes how at 3 o'clock in the morning, the dolls come to life and engage in a dance party while the house sleeps. The lyrics are an imaginative journey through the dolls’ world as they depict each doll coming out of their respective boxes and enjoying the night by dancing together. They express their freedom through dance, finally stopping when the sun rises.
The song draws a parallel to the childhood wonder of imagining that toys have lives of their own and come to life when people are not around. This is evident in the lines "La casa está dormida y nadie los verá, y salen de sus cajas dispuestas a gozar" (The house is asleep, and no one will see them, so they come out of their boxes ready to enjoy). It’s a fun song that adds an element of excitement to one's childhood imagination, contributing to a lovely memory that wouldn't be easily forgotten.
