Cri-Cri is known as the "grillito cantor" or "the singing cricket". He is a character created by Francisco Gabilondo Soler in his childhood and may even be considered "his inner personality"
The character became so famous and gave its author such renown, that it became a second name for Gabilondo. In the mid part of the 20th century he became the most recognizable singer of children's songs in Spanish. Gabilondo's dedication to this segment of the population has been greatly admired, comparable to Walt Disney in his honest approach to making life fun for those who are getting started in life.

Vamos a mecernos al sillón.
Riquirán, riquirín
Mientras es la hora de dormir.
Escucha el cuento
Que me ha contado
Un pajarito enamorado.
Riquirán, riquirón
Vamos a mecernos al sillón.
Riquirán, riquirín
Mientras es la hora de dormir.
Una niña hermosa
En un bosque se perdió,
Era tan bonita
Que hasta el sol se sorprendió.
Todos la quisieron ver,
Y al oirla hablar
Pá jaros y flores
Comenzaron a cantar.
Viva nuestra reina!
Un gran árbol exclamó,
! Que viva la reina!
Todo el bosque contestó.
El vivir por siempre ahí
Ella consintió
Se convirtió en cascada
Y en el bosque se quedó.
Riquirán, riquirón
Vamos a mecernos al sillón.
Riquirán, riquirín
Mientras es la hora de dormir.
Este es el cuento
Que me ha contado
Un pajarito enamorado.
Riquirán, riquirón
Vamos a mecernos al sillón.
Riquirán, riquirín
Mientras es la hora de dormir
