With much success in the Hong Kong music industry, Sammi became one of Hong Kong's pop divas. She also has a successful film career, particularly in the romantic comedy genre. Her goofy, sometimes scatterbrained image went over well with Chinese audiences. In 2000 she made a series of romantic comedies with singer/actor 劉德華 and director Johnnie To, including Needing You (2000) and Love on a Diet (2001), which were hits and incorporate some elements of screwball comedy.

Wooh
The lyrics to 鄭秀文's song Du Jia Shi Chang (独家试唱) describe the complexities of love and relationships. The singer questions how love determines one's eligibility and uniqueness, emphasizing the need for love to prove compatibility and individuality. The song suggests that there have been too many right and wrong judgments in love, leading to situations where emotions and desires mix together without considering the consequences. The singer expresses a desire for freedom and urges both men and women not to wait anymore but to pursue their own freedom now.
The lyrics also touch on the idea that there are countless loopholes in the reasons behind love, and encourages being open and honest. The singer admits that the result of love determines whether one is loved and cared for or not, highlighting the importance of the outcome in the relationship. The song ends with a plea to not cling aimlessly and to break free from stagnant situations, emphasizing the need for a breakthrough and the willingness to face the consequences of pursuing freedom.
