She has sung Hindi, Assamese, Urdu, Telugu, Marathi, Bengali, Gujarati, Punjabi, Tamil, English, Russian, Czech, Nepali, Malay and Malayalam.
In 2006, Asha Bhosle stated that she had sung over 12,000 songs, a figure repeated by several other sources. The World Records Academy, an international organization which certifies world records, recognized her as the "Most Recorded Artist" in the world, in September 2009. The Government of India honoured her with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2000 and the Padma Vibhushan in 2008.

Such heart-touching melodious music was of SJ. No doubt they were brought by legendary actor Raj Kapoorji who was described as angel by Hasratji. Only unfortunate matter was that Shankarji was not kept by Raj Kapoorji despite his calibre in music. Proof was that Shankarji got Filmfare awards continuously for 3 times(the last time even without Jaikishanji). Anyhow I bow before all these celebrities for their immense contribution to Hindi film industry
