Cri-Cri is known as the "grillito cantor" or "the singing cricket". He is a character created by Francisco Gabilondo Soler in his childhood and may even be considered "his inner personality"
The character became so famous and gave its author such renown, that it became a second name for Gabilondo. In the mid part of the 20th century he became the most recognizable singer of children's songs in Spanish. Gabilondo's dedication to this segment of the population has been greatly admired, comparable to Walt Disney in his honest approach to making life fun for those who are getting started in life.

y por los lagos y sobre el mar,
paso a pasito tres peregrinos,
los Reyes Magos vienen acá.
Caravana de jugetes
con reflejo de diamantes
en los lomos de camellos,
Pon tus zapatos limpios
cerquita de la ventana
verás que sorpresa llevas
mañana por la mañana.
Baltasar y Melchor y Gaspar
los tres Reyes Magos ya van a llegar
Baltasar y Melchor y Gaspar
si te portas bien te van a premiar
(si te portas bien irán a tu hogar)
The song "Los Reyes Magos" by Cri-Cri is about the arrival of the Three Wise Men, also known as the Three Kings, to deliver gifts to children on the night of January 5th. The lyrics describe the journey of the Three Wise Men as they travel step by step through roads, lakes, and over the sea to reach their destination. The image painted is of a caravan of toys, with reflections of diamonds on the backs of camels, horses, and elephants.
The second part of the song is a message to children to leave their shoes clean and close to the window, as they will wake up the next morning to a surprise from the Three Wise Men. The anticipation of receiving a gift is palpable in the song, and children are encouraged to be well-behaved in order to earn a reward from the Kings. The repetition of the names of the Three Wise Men, Baltasar, Melchor, and Gaspar, adds a sense of magic to the song and helps to build the excitement of their arrival.
Overall, "Los Reyes Magos" is a charming and joyful tribute to the tradition of the Three Wise Men in Mexican culture. It celebrates the arrival of the Kings and encourages children to be good, while also capturing the sense of wonder and magic of the holiday season.
