Sono venuto a vedere
Lo strano effetto che fa
La mia faccia nei vostri occhi
E quanta gente ci sta
E se stasera si alza una lira
Per questa voce che dovrebbe arrivare
Fino all'ultima fila
Improvvisamente eccomi qua
Siamo l'amante e la sposa
Siamo arrivati fin qua
L'attore e la sciantosa
E siamo pronti a qualsiasi cosa
Pur di stare qua
Siamo il padre e la figlia
Arrivati fin qua
Siamo una grande famiglia
Abbiam lasciato soltanto un momento
La nostra valigia di là
Nel camerino già vecchio
Tra un lavandino ed un secchio
Tra un manifesto e lo specchio
Tra un manifesto e lo specchio
Eccoci qua
E allora eccoci, siamo qua
Siamo venuti per niente
Perché per niente si va
E c'inchiniamo ripetutamente
E ringraziamo infinitamente…
Eccoci qua
Siamo il padre e la figlia
Capitati fin qua
Siamo una grande famiglia
Abbiam lasciato soltanto un momento
La nostra vita di là
Nel camerino già vecchio
Tra un lavandino ed un secchio
Tra un manifesto e lo specchio
Tra un manifesto e lo specchio
In "La Valigia dell'Attore," Francesco De Gregori reflects on the life of an actor and the fleeting nature of fame. The song begins with the artist appearing on stage and observing the audience's reaction to his performance. He remarks on the darkness and silence that slowly envelop the space, punctuated only by the light shining on his face. De Gregori then states that he and his fellow performers are there to do whatever is necessary to ensure that they can continue their careers. They are a large family, leaving only momentarily their lives behind in the old dressing room, between the sink and the bucket, the poster, and the mirror.
The song's powerful message is about the temporary nature of fame and the artist's life. It is used as a metaphor for the real world, where people strive to make their mark and be remembered in the same way as artists. The "strange effect" that De Gregori sings about is the way that fame generates both adoration and artificiality in the relationship between performer and fans. This kind of life, with constant performance and travel, is ultimately unsustainable and requires the creation of one's own family of fellow artists.
Overall, "La Valigia dell'Attore" is a touching and poignant work that speaks to both the artist's life and the human experience in general.

Eccomi qua
Here I am
Sono venuto a vedere
I came to see
Lo strano effetto che fa
The strange effect it has
La mia faccia nei vostri occhi
My face in your eyes
E quanta gente ci sta
And how many people are here
E se stasera si alza una lira
And if tonight one lira is raised
Per questa voce che dovrebbe arrivare
For this voice that is supposed to reach
Fino all'ultima fila
To the last row
Oltre al buio che c'è
Beyond the darkness that is here
E al silenzio che lentamente si fa
And the silence that slowly falls
And the light that cuts through my face
Improvvisamente eccomi qua
Suddenly, here I am
Siamo l'amante e la sposa
We are the lover and the bride
Siamo arrivati fin qua
We have come this far
L'attore e la sciantosa
The actor and the dancer
E siamo pronti a qualsiasi cosa
And we are ready for anything
Pur di stare qua
Just to be here

We came for a short time
Perché per poco si va
Because soon we will be gone
E il sipario è calato già
And the curtain has already fallen
On this life that is not so clean
E ricorda il colore di certe lenzuola
And it reminds us of the color of certain sheets
Di certi hotel
In certain hotels
That already have our name
E ormai nemmeno ci chiedono più
And now they don't even ask for our ID anymore
Il documento d'identità
The ID document
E allora eccoci, siamo qua
And so, here we are

@fabiopomponi7740

@auggia1
@salvocascone7011
