Awful is the sight of the ruined city
Blood flows down the streets
Catastrophe has come to my people
Dreadful is their fate
Every house has been destroyed
Families are broken forever
God promised he would do this
Holy is his name
I am worn out with weeping
Just broken in spirit
Let me die like the others
My life has no meaning
Never again will I laugh
Or dance for joy
Please comfort me, Lord
Quieten my spirit
Remind me of your future plans
Save your people from despair
Tell them you still love them
Understand their feelings
Vent your anger on their destroyers
Exterminate our enemies
We will again exalt your name
Zealous for your reputation

I wanted you to know that I have read through the bible 3 times now and this time being the 4th I have decided to split each part and dig deep for more of an understanding and before each part I always watch your videos to give me a better understanding on the parts I'm reading and I just wanted to tell you that I have come to see how beautiful the bible is. You have made me see it in away that I can truely relate and the way you speak about these is just amazing. Sometimes I just watch with tears running down my cheeks. I can't even find the words. Thank you.

@Golden Egg so you read the Bible before you were saved

Golden Egg

@R C One should for sure focus when listening, but listening in itself isn't wrong. My advice is mainly for people who can't seem to get further and instead leave the whole thing. I know reading genealogies can be beneficial even for gentiles, but I see them having the most importance for Jews (proving the blood line of Jesus). In my opinion, someone reading for the first time or otherwise stuck don't need to deeply think about each name in a genealogy, but should move on and come back later. I say that because the first time I read the Bible through, I wasn't really even in faith so leaving the whole project was tempting.

@Linh H Le Yes like Golden Egg said, have the audio version to accompany you but you need to take 30 mins a day on average to read, of course some parts are more boring and some will be your favorites. Reading front to back is very beneficial.

R C

@Golden Egg Try not to do that always, you reap what you sow. I am guilty of that too but I try to not split attention when listening, let's put it this way, if I cannot get the gist or details of a movie while listening and doing dishes at the same time, I probably wouldn't get the details Bible the same way.

Golden Egg

@Linh H Le try listening to it as an audio book. I also tend to get stuck in parts like genealogies, but you can go through them surprisingly fast listening to them while doing dishes or something.

David sure is a prophet. He connects the bible and all in it so perfect, it HAS to be from God. I am so thankful to be able to understand the bible (and with it God) better!
