The song "Paan Khaye Saiyan Hamarao" is a classic Bollywood song sung by Asha Bhosle. The song falls under the genre of traditional Indian folk music, which highlights the rural lifestyle of India, especially the customs and traditions of the north Indian states like Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. The song opens with the phrase "Paan Khaye Saiyan Hamarao" which means, "My darling eats paan," and paan is a popular Indian snack made out of betel leaves and other ingredients. The song continues by describing the beauty of the beloved's features, like the dark complexion and the red lips. The song also highlights the beloved's taste in clothing with the line "Haay malamal ka kurta, malamal ke kurte pe chhit laal-laal."
The second stanza of the song talks about a woman who brings a Jadu or a magic potion from Banaras to impress a man who doesn't love her back. The song describes how she gave everything she had to make him love her, but in the end, he never cared about her feelings. The third and final stanza of the song talks about a woman waiting for her lover to come into her garden. The garden is adorned with the sound of the ghungroo, and the woman awaits her lover's arrival. However, the woman is afraid of being caught by the thief, and her heart is filled with fear.
Overall, the song "Paan Khaye Saiyan Hamarao" is about an Indian woman's love and devotion for a man who never reciprocates her feelings. The song is also about India's rural lifestyle, customs, and traditions.
