It's Too Late
Carole King Lyrics

Stayed in bed all mornin' just to pass the time
There's somethin' wrong here, there can be no denyin'
One of us is changin', or maybe we've just stopped tryin'

And it's too late, baby, now it's too late
Though we really did try to make it
Somethin' inside has died
And I can't hide and I just can't fake it
Oh, no, no, no, no, no
(No, no, no, no)

It used to be so easy, livin' here with you
You were light and breezy, and I knew just what to do
Now you look so unhappy and I feel like a fool

And it's too late, baby, now it's too late
Though we really did try to make it
Somethin' inside has died
And I can't hide and I just can't fake it
Oh, no, no

There'll be good times again for me and you
But we just can't stay together, don't you feel it, too?
Still I'm glad for what we had and how I once loved you

But it's too late, baby, now it's too late
Though we really did try to make it
Somethin' inside has died
And I can't hide and I just can't fake it
Oh, no, no, no, no, no

It's too late, baby
It's too late now, darling
It's too late

Baby, this was exactly the same for about everyone from "that period" 60s n 70s
Whether 5 yrs old or 40.
Because of the times some if the little ones I observing were just like Shirley Temple and Andy Rooney from the mouths of babes
Like the champ!
To James Dean, Clark .Gable, Jack Oakie, Robert Young,
Ronald Coleman, Errol Flynn to Tyrone Power and John Wayne and Ward Bond. Jules Garfield. Natalie Wood
Elizabeth Taylor, Grace Kelly, Judy Garland,
Bette Davis or Barbara Stanwyk !
We all felt something if the same, were or had going or gone through something of the same. The thing is there was such Social up heval and. The music fueled it big time daddie O !
Never did the music drive and communicate to a whole Nation and World hey wait a minute I want a word
To !
There's something
Not good or right over there? !
Ot what's wrong with
Speaking up?
With sex?
Living together
Better Liv conditions
Low rent
Low taxes
No more War
Inter Racial Love
And marriage
Racism in America?

@MARSBELLA1
People are free to share their story if they want.
I wouldn't let them ruin the song for you.
You can create your own more happier story for yourself to go with the song.

Sadly there are people who have suffered great loss and it helps them to share their story and often there is a song or music that the person associates with their story.
It is very common and a very powerful thing. I am sure you have memories and stories that you associate with certain songs. Can be happy or sad.
I know it can be distressing to read the sad and tragic stories and can even spoil the mood but people are free to write whatever they want and perhaps consider how they must be feeling.
Have some compassion.

The only thing I can suggest is just not read the comments on the videos. This is the internet and you're going to come across Comments and things you may not like. So the best thing to do is don't read comments and YOU be the one to move on.
There are also uploads of the same songs
On other videos that have comments disabled.

The Greatest compilation of lyrics and music from a Soul n Heart that will never
NEVER BR MATCH IN
HUMAN TIME !
A VOICE A PIANO
THAT SPEAKS TO THE LISTENER WHICH IS WAY DIFFERENT THAN
THE SINGER WHO JUST SINGS OR SCREAMS OR RAPS!
SHE TOUCHES THE HEART THEN THE SOUL. GIVES HOPE.
A CHANCE A WARMTH
THAT PREDACATES
ALL OTHERS OF HER GENERATION AND EVEN TODAY!
GOD BLESS HER.

This was "Album of the Year" when I graduated High School in 1971. I'll be 70 before I know it, yet this song STILL takes me back to a very bittersweet time in my life! An incredibly special "Best Friend' (whom I'm still "Best Friends" with to this day, albeit separated by 3000+ miles), cruising in my '71 Mazda RX-2 and paying just 25 cent a gallon for gas, a girl I was MADLY in love with, (who died all too young from a brain tumor), all the while living in a very tumultuous and emotionally destructive home environment that was 'fueled' nightly by all too much alcohol. To quote from Dickens' "A Tale of Two Cities", "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times..." Memories that cause me to smile through my tears.....

I don't know whether to be happy for you or sad. Just kidding. That were still here to enjoy our memories is a blessing of itself. Enjoy freind. I'll be 70 in April of 23.

My mom went to high school about the same time. She passed away on October 2nd this year. She used to play this album along with many others when I was a child. My love for music comes from both my parents who died too early. I passed the album collection on to my son who is now also an audiophile. Both my sons are.

@David Wesson David, I had to deal with my parent's alcoholism, while my wife (of over 27 years) grew up with a Dad who was mentally ill, (paranoid schizophrenic) and all the turmoil and chaos that created for her and the family. As she's told me on more than one occasion, "It was like growing up in the Addams Family, only it WASN'T funny ..."

Sadly, (even to this day) my wife was the ONLY member of her family that was willing to acknowledge the "Elephant in the Middle of the Room", with the other siblings (and the Mom) of the "ilk" that "All is Fine" and/or "If we IGNORE the problem long enough, it will go away..." (Which of course, it never did, even to his dying day..)

The CARNAGE this creates for the kids, and the issues it causes them in their own personal relationships (friends, trust/bonding issues, marriages, parenting, careers, etc, etc.) is horrific and tragic, though we (wife and me) have sought to "Acknowledge and CONFRONT" what this has done to us, and to NOT "Repeat the Cycle"....

@Javier Mendoza Javier, I was pretty much "clueless" re the Van Halen Era (brilliant guitarist, just not my style of music), as while we both attended PCC (Pasadena City College), I left (and moved to Florida) just as he was entering PCC. Though not a "Metal' guy, I am a "hack" guitarist, and I would have loved to have heard him play in person and witness his brilliance, though I did get to frequent a place in Hollywood (Donte's) where I got to hear some of the best jazz guitarist and musicians in the world!!

My baby daughter died in a horrific truck accident in 1971 and this was the song I latched onto. I was 18 and the driver. No car safety seats back then. 52 years later it’s still the song that touches me.
We really did try to make it.
