Eza Joven Feliz
Michel Sardou Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Overall Meaning

In Michel Sardou's song Eza Joven Feliz, the singer reflects on his perception of his mother before he discovered her happiness. He never imagined his mother's hair would turn gray with age until he saw the happiness in the eyes of a young woman, who was a flower in comparison to his mother. He never believed that his mother was capable of giving birth and raising another child until he saw the happiness of a blonde woman, the color of honey. He fears that people forget that his mother was once a young woman who surrendered to love like any other woman and rebelled in pleasure.

The singer's perception of his mother changed after he saw the happiness of two women who reminded him that his mother once had similar experiences. He never believed his mother could be more beautiful than before until he realized that he saw his mother without the passion and vertigo that comes with youth. He was wrong about his perception of his mother, his mother's capabilities, and his mother's experiences. He discovered the beauty and happiness of his mother from the reflection of youth and rebellion.

Magnifique !
