El Osito Carpintero
Pedro Infante Lyrics

Que vivía muy pobre
Lloraba porque sus ositos
Le chillaban de hambre
La urraca le robo el martillo
Clavos y serrote
Lloraba porque su herramienta
Oye papacito quiero pan-
Hijo de mi vida no lo hay-
Un lindo y rico venado
Que oyó del oso la pena
Le dio cuarenta monedas
Pa' herramienta y material
Y el oso con sus seis ositos
Hizo bicicletas
Con ruedas de naranjas dulces
Y con sus cornetas
Los gatos las compraron todas
Para echar carreras
En contra de los conejitos
Del palacio real
Y gano con esto un dineral
Y le dio al venado un festival
Y hoy tiene tan gran tesoro
Que a cada osito le a dado
Tres costalitos de oro
Mil juguetes miel y pan.
The song "Osito carpintero" by Pedro Infante tells the story of a poor carpenter bear who is struggling to provide for his six little bear cubs. The bear is saddened by their constant hunger and cries while the cubs are shrieking due to starvation. To make things worse, a magpie stole his tools- hammer, nails, and saw, causing the bear to cry for the inability to buy new ones.
One day, a kind-hearted deer who hears of the bear's plight offers him forty coins so he can buy new tools and materials. With this, the bear creates bicycles for his cubs using sweet oranges as wheels and horns as handlebars. The cats end up buying all the bikes, organizing a race against the palace rabbits, which the cats eventually win, gaining the bear a lot of money.
The bear later hosts a festival that he dedicates to the deer, who once helped him. The bear has become wealthy and is now able to provide for his cubs with three golden sacks, a thousand toys, honey, and bread.
Overall, the song is about the power of compassion, collaboration and helping one another. Through the deer's generosity, the bear was able to provide for his family and even share his newfound wealth with others, proving that a small act of kindness can make a huge difference.
